Treasure Map Containers - safe?

Post » Sat Sep 08, 2012 9:47 pm

I checked both the UESP and the Elder Scrolls wikis, and couldn't find an answer to this question:

After getting the map (and loot associated with the map), are the chests safe containers?

I'm on the Xbox, so there's no way I can check in the game files to see how they are set. Could someone with a PC possibly take a look into this for me? Thanks!

Chests in your home are safe.

Chests anywhere else are not.

Don't use display cases

there are quiet a few chests that do not respawn and can be used for storage
