So my Norton subscription ran out the other day, and I'm currently running free anti-virus and firewall. The problem is that they're seperate.
Anyway, my new ISP provides Trend Micro free of charge, but I'm not sure if it's effective. http://anti-virus-software-review.toptenreviews.com/index.html
Has anyone ever used it before? Is it effective/as effective as Norton?
Prepare for a flood of Norton hate. You can have a few drops of mine to begin it all.
I would look into other protections now, you shouldn't underestimate some of the free ones online, they can be quite good.
As for if Trend Micro is better or not I'm not quite sure, had it too and disliked it too, I've been running AVG free lately but am considering getting a new one myself.

Wait for DEFRONS advice, this is his thing if i recall, and he's never steered me wrong in the past.
Norton is ineffiective and certainly didn't save my last computer from a Trojan, if I were you I'd drop it. I currently have Trend Micro and have had no problems with it.
DEFRON is currently either busy or being lazy, since I was actually discussing AV software with him.
Thus, in the meantime, I wanted to see if anyone else had advice.
Or, you know, busy at this silly "job" thing
Either Trend Micro or Bitdefender is a pile of crap and slows down your computer to a crawl. The other of the two was better, but hated the UI of it. Don't really care to install a bunch of trials on computers again to find out which was which, I got paid to do it last time
