Trespassing with Follower. Glitch? Or working as intended?

/rant

I've never attempted to trespass with my follower before, I usually tell them to wait when I have thiefly things to do. Then this one time I decide to take my follower with me, I'm shocked to find out that it is nearly impossible to interact with her because all she says is, "You're not supposed to be here." That's it. No options for giving commands, all I get is this ridiculously cumbersome "command state" where I have to yank her along behind me by an invisible tether that only goes so far, in order to get the little b**** to move. I'm so irritated right now! Was this an actual game mechanic or is this a glitch? Please tell me it's a glitch because if it's not, I don't even know where to begin to itemize the many ways such a mechanic is beyond stupid. :swear:

That seems like a glitch. If it's not, then it's a terrible design choice. But My bet is on glitch.

I don't think any of the Orc followers care if you tresspass
I know Faendal does.
So I think it is a case by case basis. But I could be wrong

Probably just an over-sight for the AI conditions. The follower just probably sees the crime regardless of their relationship towards you because of how the game mechanics work. To fix it I would imagine they could add them to a "evil" faction where crime doesn't really relate to them or something? I'm sure it can be fixed.

That's what I was afraid of, that it wasn't a glitch. I hope it was an oversight because it is just plain stupid otherwise. No way in hell would I want to travel around with someone who's devolves into an idiot and won't take direction when they find themselves in a situation they object to. That kind of mechanic makes no sense. I'd much prefer they leave my service entirely or at least go back to the property they oversee. THAT would make sense. I just had to take my follower trespassing for the first time in the one area of the game that's more like a dungeon, and it was amazingly painful trying to get through it with her. I finally left her behind, and did that feel good! Maybe I'll try going through the rest of the game solo.
