Treva's Watch

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 6:49 am

Hello,

just curious if anyone had a similar experience with the quests around Treva's Watch.
I first got to it around level 20 (because apparently one is supposed to be able to play this game however they like). The group of men inside the escape tunnel "2-shotted" me with a pretty decent light armor skill and healing simultaneously. It was clearly too difficult at this point so I decided to come back later.

Seven levels later I have come back and get the same results with much higher armor, along with upgraded restoration, one-handed and destruction skills.

Am I missing something? I know the mobs are said to scale with the character to some extent but this almost seems broken. Unless there is a trick I'm missing I think I will probably just have to skip this content.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know what's happening with you because Treva's watch was pretty easy for me. I think I was level 10-15

If this is the place I am thinking of:

I have cleared out this place 3 times now. Twice for a quest, once because I was just walking by. I noticed that the dudes in this place are a bit tougher than most places I have been to. I died about 9 times the second time, the third time, I kept getting Lydia killed.

Now, did you happen to walk by castle to the campsite down the road? Talk to the folks at the fire, they might have an idea of a better way into this place.

I recall it being harder than the average dungeon, and it took a lot to get through it, but I had a lot of fun with it

Yes, I've found that some of the guys you face in there can be unusually tough.

It is always too hard, especially if you visit just to nab its respawning enchanter's philter.

The first quest to kill the bandit leader does not include the escape tunnel. Once you kill him, you should go back out the way you came in. As mentioned, you will encounter a camp just outside the fort. The previous inhabitants will grant a quest to go in through the escape tunnel to clear out the rest of the bandits and you end up near where you killed the previous leader.

Continuing to go deeper after killing the first bandit leader leads you directly to the 'boss fight' of the second quest. Although if you can lead him back to the swinging wall trap, it will kill him instantly.

I seem to have a bit a trouble with this place as well. Like blackrhubarb said, try to use the traps in the place to your advantage. Plus, there is no shame in lowering the difficultly slider if need be
