So i got Skyrim, intending on joining the dark brotherhood and the thieves guild as soon as i could. But, it's just my luck that both glitched out on me.

(I have the pc version if that makes any difference.)

Dark Brotherhood

I learnt how to get into the dark brotherhood online, so i went straight to the orphanage to kill the sadistic care-taker. I (stupidly) killed her without talking to the quest giver first, in fact i killed her while she was still hurling abuse at the children. After killing her the kids start praising the DB so i figured i'd done it.

i go back to my home in whiterun, sleep several times, and the courier still isn't there. So i go to the kid who gives you the quest, i have the "kill so and so kind heart" objective, but of course i've already killed her. I slept a few more times and still, no luck.

Is there a fix? Such as a spawn npc command? Or a second mission to get myself into the guild? DB is one of the main reasons i bought this game to play.

thieves guild

The thieves guilds quest is just plain unexplainable. After doing the quest where i place the ring in the aragonians pocket, he tells me he'll meet me in the flaggen inn. So, i go there, talk to everyone, wait for days, and he's still not there. I go back upstairs to find he's still there, in the market place with everyone standing around him. Is there any way to fix this? Have i done something wrong?

I think that will put it at the stage where you just returned to the kid...so you'll still have to meet the courier/sleep.

If that doesn't do it then do
