Truck outside Doc's place looks plain and basic.

OK So far im having zero bugs or problems and issues.

nothing yes BUT... my whole game feels and i guess, the feel of being absorbed in the world was a little broken when i stepped outside the Doc's house and looked at the truck...

I was like WTF? That cant be right? It looked like someone got a 3D truck, used the same blotchy texture all over it and just re-colored parts of it. Its level of detail was so simple and plain and it completely looked out of place in contrast to the rest of the detail of the world. :cryvaultboy:

Is this honestly how the truck is MEANT to look? So i loaded my FO3 i have with with same graphics settings and took some screen shots of the cars laying around the capital wasteland for comparison.

OK This is the Truck (or trucks) in New Vegas. Please note on the New Vegas Truck the ridiculous side mirror that was so crap and out of place, that it made the whole truck look worse. :sadvaultboy:

I also included here a screen shot of my toon showing the level of detail on the knitted vest and clothes he has on, and most other things in the world look good too. Its just the truck sticks out like a sore thumb.

And this is the cars in FO3. :disguise:

http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h217/RedGold79/AION/ScreenShot297.jpg

I have even included a screen shot on the underside of one of the cars to show the level of detail included on the FO3 cars...

SO i guess i'm asking is this honestly how it is meant to look in New Vegas? Or is there something wrong with my graphics settings or level of detail? Because if that's how the truck is supposed to look, whoever rendered and textured it needs to be shot with a weathered 10mm pistol with a hollow point rounds. ( And take away his stimpaks too)

Can others please post their pics of the same truck?

The truck does look much more simplistic than the cars do. But is this more of an extension on the intial design of the vehicle over any kind of short-comings on the artist's part?

A truck in a rural area typically (Yeah, I've seen what some people can do to their trucks) serves as simple transportation and a reliable work horse for moving objects or what have you. A sophisticated, city slicker sedan however is more likely to have all the fancy additions and designed ergonomics that a discerning consumer would insist upon.

I didn't find the quality of the art involved in the truck that distracting. However, what's nice about the newer generation of Fallout games is the ability to mod what we disagree with :)

OK well if THIS is how it looks for everyone...i will just try and ignore it and get on.

Just seems odd... You know even a basic truck can still have a level of detail to it.
I mean it not even dented or banged up like the FO3 cars... just surface rust... I mean you show me an old work truck without any dents IRL huh?
