Is it true that...

So, I'm no Skyrim expert. I just like the game, play it sometimes, an average dude as far as TES goes, ya know? Of course I've noticed the bugginess though, since Skyrim is riddled with it. (And I'm on console so that svcks.)

I want to know something in regards to patches. While they obviously are meant to fix bugs, I've heard many people say or at least infer that starting new characters under current patches is better than playing with ones through patches, since apparently existing saves don't get the full benefit or something?

I always start a new character when a patch update comes out to be on the safe side eventhough i heard its not needed. If your using mods though its usually best to look out for anything going wrong since alot of times they need to be updated to the latest patch to work their best.

A lot of people start a new character for each patch because that patch may have fixed something that went wrong in their older game that they wouldn't have been able to experience otherwise. Others do it just to be on the safe side for what the new patch might mess up in their current game, because that game was started under a different patch.

yes it is wise to start new games on new patches IF the patches have large alterations like quest bug fixes etc etc. for instance running a save from 1.2 on 1.8 while brave....is less than ideal thinking

Using an old save with new patch can introduce strange bugs which nobody will believe exists.

I had a strange bug in Proving Honor where no matter what level I went there, the last room was full of Draugr Deathlords. 8 of them. It took me a very long time to figure out how to defeat 8 Draugr Deathlords at level 10.

Then months later later I learned that this was not normal after creating a brand new game from scratch instead of using level 1 save as I had been before. You get 8 Draurg Deathlords only if your level is 50+.
