Trying to fix crash and performance issues....

Let's get infoz out of the way first --

*Win7 x64 ultimate (fully updated)
*Asus P5N-D - most recent BIOS release - nforce 15.51
*Intel Q6600 with both 1600x9 and 1600x8 for 3.6 and 3.2ghz (3.6ghz is normally game-stable whereas 3.2ghz is Prime95-stable)
*BFG Geforce GTX 260 OC - drivers 267.24 - run default clock and 680mhz (gc), 1465mzh (pc), 1155mhz (mc)
*8gb DDR2 @ 1066mhz 5-5-5-15, 2T (recommended settings)
*Realtek Audio onboard controller - drivers Vista_Win7_R258_x64 (latest)
*Using MSI's Afterburner software to display in-game the gpu clocks/temp/fan/mem usage, etc

Ok, first of all, I think I fixed the crash caused by audio, I did that by reducing my core voltage and cpu mult down to 8... so far so good.

Now for performance, within moments or immediately my graphics clocks drop to 400mhz (gc), 800mhz (pc)
and framerates drop quickly as a result. My gpu temps are fine not pushing past 70C so I don't get that.

I ran the demo beautifully at 1920x1080 with I think a 'Gamer' setting. I noticed the demo setting names didn't carry over to the full version so the full version is at 'High' which is my lowest option. I also had the graphics clocks at their defaults with resolution down to 1680x1050 and had same issue with grahics clocks dropping to something you'd expect to see for a 2D setting. I went into nV control panel and had default global settings set for Crysis 2 and I also tried custom with Max Performance selected but not changing anything else from default.

Why did I run the demo much smoother and friendlier without any crashes or bugs with everything cranked up? I mean the graphics were OC'd as stated above as well as the proc running 1600x9 for 3.6ghz and no problems encountered in the demo. If I play the full version with those settings the game and system will crash in moments to a few minutes.

Thanks for any info or suggestions anyone may care to share. Peace~

Update: Some good things jus came down the pike, and just placed an order for a 570 that'll be here next week.~

Update 2: Ok Crysis 2 doesn't like my overclocked CPU. No other game I have in an extensive library of dx9,10,11 games cares my cpu is at 3.6ghz. Ok I noticed no loss going to 3.2ghz in troubleshooting as I was still stuck at 22fps b/c my gpu was running in 2D mode for some uknown reason. I have since dropped my cpu down to 3.0ghz to add stability and as for the gpu problem, I think the profiles got jacked up somewhere between nV control panel and MSI's afterburner. Now that it's sorted the 260's running sweet at 280 speeds and I'm back up to 55-60fps on high at 1920x1080. I guess it's good to post here once as a journal of sorts lol, someone else may have similar issue.

3.0ghz q6600, gtx 260 stock clocks, 8gb ram, raid 0 sata I get:
1080p High Setting - 60fps
1080p Higher - 45fps
1080p Extreme - 30-33fps (tested some in big firefight with multiple squids, pretty playable)
