Turn Undead staggers?!

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 2:14 pm

So I was doing the Queen quest, and I was having fun sniping the Mages/Undead with my bow until I fell off my perch. I was hacking, and slashing my way up the temple when I found a Drauger Overlord. He wasn't too much of an issue, but I wanted to see if my turn lesser undead spell would do anything against him.

Predictably he resisted it, but I found something even better. It staggers him! Sure he wasn't running away from me, but I found something even better. It made the fight with him a cakewalk, and I'm wondering if it works on other undead like Vampires.

Just felt like sharing.

It it's undead and to high of a level for the spell, it will stagger it.

That is pretty amazing. This means a novice level turn undead spell is more useful than an expert level one.

I've fought Draugr Overlords and I'll be using a one-handed sword and a spell in the other. I'll drop the spell and use a weapon bash to stop him from doing that lame disarm shout. The battle went pretty easy with that strategy.

I noticed that as well, but I was using it on weak draugr, didn't realise the stagger would work on higher leveled enemies too, that's pretty neat, and could be extremely useful for my dead is dead character.

Yeah, the spells have two effects. The one it says, to turn them, but if they are too high level it will apply a stagger to them. Except for the Circle of Protection, it will be useless.
