HOW TO SHEATH AND DISPLAY TWO WEAPONS AT ONCE: A TUTORIAL
<xbox 360 or PS3>
Hey all! So this may already be known to many, but after a good 1,000 hours into this game, I just found out how to have 2 visibly sheathed weapons, and repeat the results without fail for about 2 weeks now. I've accidentally had this happen in the past but was upset I could not reproduce the result. I've searched the internets and the question has been asked enough, but nothing with a straight answer. Some posts out there give some advice, and even youtube vidoes are out there...but all are showing removing hoods, spamming the favorite button and what not. No offense of course.I'm a huge role-player and care for my appearance, so this adds just that extra layer to immerse myself more into the game. Like many of my console brethren, I'm on my 360 and love it. I have the latest 1.8 patch and always on xbox live. So no schenanigans with this. The game is out over 1 year, so many of us that still play are die-hards, huge RP'ers or newbies. I hope this helps for those of you asking how to do this if you've done it accidentally. No need to let the PC players have all the fun, amirite?
* There is a catch... you cannot equip two of the same weapon. Sadly, this will not show how to equip two Steel Swords on each hip as I do not know how on a console (if you are a console player and can replicate this, please post!). As you are already aware, War Axes and Maces show on the Right hip, with Swords and Daggers showing on the Left hip. This method takes advantage both weapons at once.
What you will need:
- Two weapons of differing smithing grade or enchant. The weapons need to be on different lines or stacked. [Not: Daedric Dagger (2)] To test on your own, make sure you have 2 daggers, 2 sowrds,and 2 battleaxes of differing smithing or enchanting to it's kin.
1.) Make sure you have http://i.imgur.com/SDvL2ec.jpgand nothing selected as a favorite in the Weapons menu
2.) Equip in your Left Hand the weapon you want to display so it's "locked". (In my example, http://i.imgur.com/JekTB9i.jpg)
3.) In your Right Hand, equip a weapon that will display in a different position on that hip (ex: http://i.imgur.com/IYu3zDE.jpg)
4.) Favorite the upgraded (smithed or enchanted) weapon you wish to display. (ex: http://i.imgur.com/jwgFU15.jpg)
- When 4 is completed, it http://i.imgur.com/Do3pMUd.jpgon the same hip. Looks pretty rad IMO.
- If that's not your style, http://i.imgur.com/4ExkBoF.jpg. Or a http://i.imgur.com/mTeXaLr.jpg.
5.) With the weapon "locked" on your Left hip, go ahead and equip a War Axe with yourRight hand (ex: http://i.imgur.com/Xiki50q.jpg).
6.) If a dagger isn't your thing, you can replace the dagger to a sword in the "locked" position on your Left hip by simply changing the weapons. Just again, make sure you have two versions, an upgraded and a regular, lame one. For all you Spell-swords out there, even you mages, the http://i.imgur.com/HabVtTZ.jpglook pretty good as well!
7.) To remove the locked weapon, you simply need to remove an article of clothing or unequip and un-favorite your weapons.
- I've found this does not work with unique Daggers (and swords) such as Nettlebane, Mehrune's Dagger, Keening...to name a few. Seems you will need a replica to favorite and "lock" the weapon in it's place.
There you have it. Hope you find this nugget interesting and useful in your travels across Skyrim.
