Twin secrets.

Hey guys.

Just found a book called "Twin secrets".

The Author mentions happening across a Dragon in the ruins of Morrowind, and that he conversed with it to further his own abilities in the enchanting field.

Happening apon a Dragon, outside of Skyrim prior to the events of the game.
I've not done the MQ yet, but is that even possible?

Elder Scrolls lore says that Dragons on Vvardenfell were exterminated by Cliff Racers, or possibly driven into Cyrodiil where they became the symbol of the Empire. So, yes, it's possible.

Sure why not? Alduin is "The World Eater" not "The Skyrim Eater" so I'm sure Dragons could be outside of Skyrim. The real wierd thing in the story is, how did he talk to it?

I was just under the impression that there were no Dragons left, aside from Alduin who can't actually die.
So, It got me thinking that perhaps he was actually speaking with Alduin?

I should state that the context of the book was written in a sense that it was contemporary. As in, within a Nords living memory in the Skyrim setting.

Exterminated by Cliff racers?! That really makes dragons look pathetic and weak. Cliff racers were notorious in Morrowind for being nothing but an overpopulated annoyance that served the player no purpose other than to force them stop travelling for a few moments to take them out. If this really is true about the lore, then I'm at a loss as to how something as meek as cliff racers could chase a race as legendary and powerful as the immortal dragons out of Vvardenfell.

I'm fairly sure that the cliff racers vs dragons thing is joke.

Yeah, I find it more likely that eruption or blight storms chased them away. Who likes being bathed in lava or contracting a rauaging disease anyway?

I want to know what Dragon was in Morrowind in recent times. Considering that the Dragons in Skyrim aren't from somewhere else.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a video of a pack of cliff racers taking down a dragon.

Honestly, the way the dragons are so underpowered in Skyrim, it's possible they were all dumb enough to land in giant camps and get mauled to death by mammoths.

Cliff racers weren't that strong though?

They were the equivalent of wolves in Skyrim. It was just the combat mechanics that made them painful.

"THWAK" *Lord Nerevar falls to his knee*

Completely unfitting for such a weak creature, lol.

Cliff racers didn't stand a chance against dragons one on one, or even 10 on one, but there were so bloody MANY of them that eventually even a powerful dragon would be overwhelmed. Death of a thousand cuts, so to speak. Throw a thousand cliff-racers at even a dragon, and it's going to hurt a bit.

Plus, it didn't exactly happen overnight. It was a gradual process.

Is it actually written in the lore, or is it just a Myth?

In the atlas of dragons, an ingame book, there's a dragon under the "known to live" category that states

"Ahbiilok - Sightings dating back to the early years of the Dragonguard throughout the northern Jerralls. Multiple attempts to kill him have failed. He is believed to be lairing somewhere in Morrowind."

that's our boy.

The Morrowind version was that they drove the dragons out - could be very well because the cliffies were too annoying to tolerate and too numerous to exterminate. Sort of like leaving an house that's invaded with cockroaches...

though now that both the cliffracers and teh blight are gone, there's nothing to prevent a dragon from going back there.
