Two questions Civil War quest

Post » Sun Aug 12, 2012 11:01 am

I just completed the Civil War Quest. But I had more or less been expecting there to be a set of truce talks somewhere in there. I have the Elder Scrolls but didn't go any further in the Main Quest. Where did I go wrong, if I want to see the truce talks?

Second question...in the final confrontation with Rikke and Tullius, Tullius is on his knees talking to Ulfric and he says something that really startled me but I can't remember what it was--"oldtimers disease"

Anyone have any idea if there's a YouTube video or something that plays through that scene?

The peace treaty is only available if either side has at least 2 holds by the time you need to trap a dragon at dragonsreach. The way it plays out depends on which side holds whiterun at the time. Tullius is more demanding if Whiterun is stormcloak controlled, and Ulfric is more demanding if it is imperial controlled.

As for the 2nd one.

Thanks!

But how do you set it up so that the Empire has two holds? We weren't having any trouble winning.

Do you need to interrupt the CW quest at some point before the battle for Solitude and then do more or all of the Main Quest?

Oh and and what Tullius said..."That Empire is dead!"

Do the civil war on the stormcloak side until you finish the battle for whiterun(You can take more, so long as you don't take markarth, the peace treaty is still an option). Then do the main quest until the dragonsreach part.

Thank you. Either I will have to look for a convenient savegame or perhaps forgo the Peace treaty. Or maybe save that run of events for another character.

You can still take Markarth.

Both Tullius and Ulfric basically admit in that scene that there actions are far from heroic.
Edit: Infact I thought that both civil war ending were the most well done scenes in the game...
