Two quick questions?

Two quick questions that i haven't found answers to...

1 - I put some of my items in chests/dressers in the first house you get to stay in (riverwoood i think) and some of them have turned red. What do red items mean? I saw somewhere that it means stolen but i have not stolen anything, don;t play that king of character, and i can take them in and out of the chests with no reaction from anyone around

2 - Can you block with a 1 handed weapon in your right hand with a spell equipped in your left? if so how? what do you hit/press/pull? Xbox

THX!!!

The first question: yes it's stealing. Don't worry though, almost all of your starting items are easily replaceable.
Second: No, only if you just have a sword.

I'm really confused then. I get the item without stealing it, place it in a chest, then suddenly taking it out of the chest is considered stealing? Is this a bug? How can that be?

It should be noted, however, that if no one is around, even if the game has flagged an item as owned by someone else, you can take it with impunity. You just can't sell them to normal merchants.

I'm thinking that since you don't own the chest, any item that you put in there will default to belonging to the chest's owner... which isn't you. However, once you get your own house, you can put items in the chests that you have there.

It's a little weird, though, that in that first house where you are invited to stay and, basically, "make yourself at home" that you can't add items to a chest and remove at will.

Why on earth would you want to put items into a chest that you don't own? Waiting a few in-game days will make the items disappear, forever from your game, so that's pretty much the worst plan ever.

Simple: it isn't your chest. If you snuck into my house and left some stuff lying around, when I got home that stuff would essentially become mine by law.

Thanks for the feedback but some doesn;t make sense - Not all the items turn red in the chests, just some of them, so it can;t be that i don;t own the chest. Plus, once i take them back they are not red in my inventory

Also - i thought this first house was a "safe" place to store stuff till you can afford your own house??? Can someone confirm? Need to know if this is safe. I sold everything i could but local merchant is out of gold. Need to store it safely till he gets more gold or i find another to wipe clean.

Still confused
