Two things you may not know about sneakingstealth.

#1 is true but #2 is not. There is however a 15x modifier for daggers in the sneak tree.

That being said because of the possible damage ranges on the weapons, you actually can do more sneak attack damage with a 1h than a dagger if you get the 'best of the best' weapons. Either way though you'll be one shotting most things.

Much appreciated I am a noob and I am leveling a sneaky assassin so this helps a lot. Now I have a question that may sound really stupid but.....

What armor should I be wearing? Light or medium?

Yes, I know dumb noob is dumb but you don't know until you ask! :whistling:

A sneaky character is quite hard to pull off at the lower levels - but generally, you should be using any decent light armour. Fur, elven, etc will do - until you join the dark brotherhood. They give you an awesome set of armour.

combine the x30 bonus from stealth daggers and brotherhood gear with berserker rage = x60 damage, then you further increasae this by the one handed perk which doubles your damage, increaess power attacks by 25% and dual wielding power attacks by 50%, some strong poison and enchanted fire daggers and you get BAZILLION DAMAGE

nonsense its not hard dat all except you cant sneak around enemies - e.g. a corridor and theyre facing you - i could easily backstabb people since the start with a sneak of 15.... im now lvl 15 with a sneak of 60 and it works even better

just move slowely
use daggers
pull of your shoes if necessary (this helps!)
use muffle
and shoot arrows behind the enemies so they turn around

At later levels, a dragon will survive it. I tested :D (it had like 10% HP left). 24 x 30 damage +10 absorb HP wasn't enough. My one-handed is very low though.
don't forget you have power attacks as well... With right perks it's more like 100+ x 30... :flamethrower:

Thats what I meant - With a low sneak level it seemed really hard to actually get close to anything to pull the backstab off.

Does the game actually allow you to power attack in sneak mode? Because the few times I tested it, it didn't seem to work and I haven't tried since.

30 times damage?????

To be honest, it makes the game kind of boring. No challenge whatsoever. It's the reason why I restarted the game, cranked up the difficulty and avoid using stealth so much...

While dual-wiedling? So if I use a 20 dmg dagger and a 24 dmg dagger and dual-wield power attack it should be 44 x 30 damage? (+ the benefit for power attack)? And are you sure power attacking actually adds damage(while sneaking), because in oblivion it didn't.(while sneaking)

I think if you power attack with both of your daggers, it performs some kind of special stealth kill? Thats what the animation of it looks like at least - try it out.

I get x30 damage when I backstab. You need the right equipment and perks.

You can also shoot floor-traps with an arrow to set them off safely from a distance.

(Or have your stupid companion walk over them if you run out of arrows LOL)

As far as I've noticed, if you're doing a power attack while dual-wielding, only the first attacks gets the 30x multiplier. And I think it counts, because I managed to one-hit kill a blood dragon.

Awesome, thanks for the answers everyone! Looks like I need to start using light armor then and it does make sense for sneaking. Now I am using two swords at the moment but I am not a fan of them but the daggers were a lower stat so I thought they were not as good.

I can't wait to get home and fix Cael'leach!
