Ugly tomatoes

Post » Mon Dec 09, 2013 11:48 am

I really hate those tomato baskets, god they are awful looking. I can't stay immersed in the TES world when every time I go to the market theres

flat weird looking tomatoes everywhere turning to follow me like some scooby doo creepy pictures eyes

I know what you mean, nothing is more immersion breaking, lore breaking and likely to cause the game to fail than incorrectly designed tomato baskets, this is a killer.

I think you expressed this too lightly.

#DealWithIt

They're like that to keep the number of vertices in the meshes to a minimum enabling more objects in a given area and less stress on weaker machines. Just in case you didn't know.

Yup, totally agree with the OP--btw your avatar is very creepy-- we need 3D vegetables in this game. I mean the bread looks 3D so why not the vegetables?

so stupid poll and waste of thread. This is meant to be for consoles and for most of the PC`s out there, filling ESO world with unnecessary polygons wont help that.

Disagree, not a waste of a thread, the textures should be top notch for those who have the graphics capability who want the extra immersive feel.

The tomatoes, like bread, have a 3D model, however to save memory space they've decided to give a two dimensional representation for the surface of the contents in the basket.

And a tomato is a fruit, not a vegetable.

It will be better if the sack is close then open, but it is not the end of world. Yeah, they need to work on that model some more.

Your "immersion" is far too fragile or your imagination too weak for RPGs, OP.

My immersion is ruined! Guess ESO is gonna fail due to poorly drawn tomatoes.

I would agree if it was that easy. There are things that you can change with checking box "Higher Quality"and there are not. Developers can change distance fog within a second for better PC`s.

But there are things that cannot be changed in that menu as this. In order for those tomatoes not to be flat they would have to be recreated in 3D program and then they would make them 3D so they would add polygons to them.

This would take complete overhaul of all things like that.
