Ulfric isn't very well protected...

Post » Mon Sep 10, 2012 5:28 am

Even Bulgruff has a badass dark elf threatening anyone who gets near the Jarl of Whiterun.

Ulfric? Just chattin, dem dragonborns, they hatin'

I don't get it.

Also, can you walk around in imperial clothes and not get killed? if so thats a big security flaw in Windhelm.

Nobody in Skyrim is well protected.

Spoiler
Vittoria Vici had hardly any guards at her wedding. Also, a common stranger can walk in and sit down without any questions being asked.

Spoiler
That Dark Brotherhood quest where you assassinate the Emperor. The only ship that is present is the one he is on. You would think they would have at least 6 escort ships with him. He is after all the Imperial Emperor and there is a Civil War going on where he is at. So he would be a pretty big target for the Stormcloaks.

Neither can Ulfric if I go by that final battle in Windhelm. For a man who knew the way of the voice he folded faster than a lawn chair under Rosie O' Donnell.

Well, so does Balgruuf. I guess he's just doesn't know it.

Of course, maybe Ulfric learned about that power when he studied with the Greybeards. :P

Am I correct in thinking that the "High King" that Ulfric shouted to death was a child?

That being said he's the toughest of any of the Jarl's I've seen in "Skyrim" so far.

While they sit around pensively he's actually doing something.

Yikes! Well, there goes breakfast, thanks for the image, man, I'm not going to eat properly for a week now.

Nobody, anywhere in the game, is all that well protected from the Dragonborn! You kill dragons, vampire lords, whatever gets in your way. Clearly, Ulfric knows his only chance is to get you on his side, and if he fails, a nuclear response won't even help his butt against the one and only Player Character.

Why have protection when you can just fall to your knees, then never take damage.

Theoretically ysolda could take on all of solitudes armies, she has mastered the art of being essential.

Surprisingly, no. Most Stormcloaks I talked to seem horrified that the Emperor is dead. Ulfric doesn't even bring it up.

No, he's around Ulfric age I think. He was just inexperienced in warfare(by the Nords' standards) which could have been translated by the Imperial side to mean youthful. If you see him in Sovngard though, you'll see for yourself he's not a child.

because the dark elf in whiterun is his housecarl. i don't think ulfric even wants to have something like an housecarl.

but he got protection.... garmal or how he was called... comes close to a housecarl.

It annoys me though how much importance Tullius puts on Ulfric's death. Why can't I just kill him from the get go as soon as I join the Empire? Its not like anyone's gonna stop you if you go to Windhelm in full Legion garb >_>. Railroading, so much railroading....

Ulfric fought in the Great War (30 years before TESV), so he has to be 45+. Torygg was probably 20-25.

Well, judging by looks I thought Torygg was at least 30, but he's still no child.

A 20-year-old CAN have a full beard, it's not just very common in our society. He's referred to as young and his widow seems very young as well, so I think 20-25 would be a good guess.

Ulfric's age has been discussed in older threads, and the conclusion has been that he's somewhere between 43-55.

That is questionable though. I completed the Civil War quest line and most NPCs don't know that it's over with. They still act like it's the same when you first start the game. So all we know Ulfric could be glad that he is dead, but Bethesda didn't bother to add dialog for him about it.

http://i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w384/Auroratiger/Skyrim/Galmarochdraken.jpg I think I might have shot one arrow (that missed), and true, he had some Stormcloaks backing him up (but most of them were busy taking out a spriggan), but he did most of the job himself.
