[REQ] Ultimate Hunter Mod (Fish, Trap, Camp etc)

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 7:46 am

All over Skyrim we run into Hunter characters who have a fishing pole, tent, firewood, campfire and bedroll. It would be pretty awesome to have a mod that allows our Ranger-esque character to live that idyllic Hunter lifestyle. No idea if this is realistic, but mod would include items such as:

- ability to fish, and equippable ( weapon?) fishing pole item (model already present), that maybe targets like arrow with line attached (?)
- ability to use caught dragonflies, bugs as lures/bait
- Bear/animal trap that can be dropped and activated in wild (model already in place)
- usable Tent item that could be dropped on the ground as setup as tent
- usable Bedroll item that could be dropped on the ground and used to sleep on
- ability to chop wood in wildlife
- ability to make Campfire with presence of kindling (some alchemy plants) firewood, flint (?), charcoal or just firewood and your flame spell
- ability to cook over said Campfire, if you have cast iron pot etc
- if fire and cooking is setup increased attraction from wildlife/bandits
- more realistic arrow flight
- darker/starrier nights

I'm sure people can think of a bunch of other things as well. Thanks, probably unrealistic but I always run by those hunters and and think how cool it would be to have an outdoor setup.

This sounds extremely fun, would add a lot of immersion to Skyrim.

Don't forget about making your own arrows in the wilds :)

I had this idea as well. Craftable traps, being able to start a fireplace anywhere with firewood, a placeable tent, etc.

Would be cool. I'm sure someone else will come up with a portable tent/campfire soon enough but I think I'll be looking at those traps...

Been wanting something like this too, would be great.

I'd be happy with just being able to place a tent/bedroll, a fire & cooking pot. Everything else would just be a very nice bonus :]

Yes, all of that is fantastic. Also an eat/sleep/drink requirement would be needed to make all the hunting and cooking improvements worth something beyond your own roleplay.

The arrow and snare crafting would be very cool. I've seen the bear traps in a few dungeons now and would think it is relatively straightforward to allow them to be picked up and placed in the wild. Same for the tent, bedroll and fishing pole. Also agree with the eat/sleep/drink requirements and the greater danger of falling asleep without a watch. I imagine the act of fishing may be difficult to integrate...

sounds good but if i may:

- if fire and cooking is setup increased attraction from wildlife/bandits

animals may be attracted to the light if they know that it is a sign of humans being there, which would mean food. But animals (unless rabid) are terrified of fire and will not venture close to it. most in fact stay just in the shadows where you can barely see them.
