I don't get the option to purchase a child bedroom in Solitude (Proudspire manor) probably because of a Skyrim bug which I have already reported here: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1415539-visit-proudspire-manor-unable-to-complete/

Does anyone have the solution please?

What I need is a console command so that the game recognises that I have visited Proudspire manor in Solitude....

Showquesttargets should give you the quest ID's for all current quests so you can find out the one for visiting Proudspire. Then use GetStage to finish the stage.
