I'm unable to take a screenshot.

Post » Fri May 25, 2012 1:16 pm

When I press F12, there is no notification on the top corner saying I took a screenshot.
I scoured my steam>skyrim folder just in case and found zero screenshots.
Printscreen doesn't work either.
So my question is, are there any alternate programs that will allow me to take screenshots while playing skyrim?

Thanks

Yep and you can set it to save them in whatever folder you want them in -- Free version saves in .bmp format but full version has several formats you can choose from for the save format.

Disable steams "ingame" screenshot taking and voice and ingame community system.... it'll reduce CTDs and allow you to actually take screenshots ... even with fraps i couldn't take any majority of the time because steam kept overriding it somehow.

Same for me. F12 does nothing (works in other steam games) and the print key even states that a screenshot was taken but all the BMPs in Skyrims folder are corrupted.

^^^^^This is my situation as well. Press 'prntscrn', get the screenshot message...all good. Go into my steam/skyrim folder, and try to open the .bmp files and all are 'corrupted'. I cannot open them with any application I have tried.
