Unaccessible Landmark?

Post » Mon Feb 04, 2013 9:41 am

I have a landmark icon showing as undiscovered to the West of Saering's Watch, but I can't get to it. It seems to be on top of a mountain peak that's inaccessible (or inside the mountain???).

Anyone else?

Eheheh, oh it's accessible alright. A complete pain in the [censored], but you can get up there.

Just use arvak and his amazing lack of gravity to get to it.

Are we talking about Castle Karstaag Caverns, or something else?

its right at the summit of a mountain close to Benkongerike. I've made it almost the entire way up on foot but am unable to "locate" the landmark. but its confirmed you can reach it with Arvak?

There are two that I know of, Mount Mosering and Mortag Peak. Both are annoying as crap to get to.

Just curious, but would it be possible to land there via dragon riding? I've never up there.

It's Mount Moesring, and once you get up there, the challenge is worth the view. In honor of getting there, I left a bottle of Firebrand Wine and a Skull left facing Red Mountain.

Spam the Jump button. :D

Arvak &--#62; jumping. Imo. The only issue with that is... it's so easy to accidentally run right off the peak once you get it. Then you have to get it again.

Anyway, people. You get the location unlocked when you stand on the very peak. Fun fact; if you fast travel there, you actually only end up halfway up the mountain and not on the peak. It's called Frykte's Peak.

Too true.
A little easter egg/ funny thing imo.
There is nothing up there but the achievement of having been there.

(swearing) that was one climb.

I've found three peaks. Moesring, Frykte, and Mortag peak. It's the one by Castle Karstaag. Also, I actually like using a VL for it. They seem to have good mountain scaling abilities.

I just managed to discover Mortrag Peak using the jumping mountain climbing technique. Tried for the mountain opposite (Frykte?), but couldn't quite get over the last hump. Mortrag was a major pain. The one opposite is easier to get close to the top, but then got stuck.

Are these official locations, like with map markers or just something fun to find? I am on a peak right now near Moesring Pass and it had no marker... incredible view tho, especially after doing the Clear Skies shout.

Riding up these peaks on Arvak reminds me of mass effect 1 and trying to find the sweet spot up the mountain in the mako. If only Arvak had those jets haha

They have map markers, but they only appear when you are almost at the peak.

Man, I really miss the mako, sure would come in handy getting to the to these peaks, although I would prefer Arvak with the mass accelerator cannon myself

I had it show up while I was riding a dragon and couldn't discover it, I think it might just be a glitch.

Not a glitch, actual places you can fast-travel to will appear. Proven many times over now.

Credit to silverFerret for the information from the other thread

Fryke Peak ( Above Saering's Watch )
Mount Moesring ( South of Moesring Pass )
Mortag Peak ( South of Castle Karstaag )
Hvitkald Peak ( West of Abandoned Lodge )

They are map markers, and you can fast travel to them once discovered. They can all be done on foot, but wow is my thumb tired and my "Y" button is complaining.
