Underwater Locations

Is there any confirmation on whether or not water breathing will be useful in Skyrim? I'll be playing as an Argonian either way, but in Oblivion, there wasn't really any point to look at the bottom of lakes and rivers because there was nothing at the bottom of them, although you couldn't see anything if there was. I doubt there will be as much water in Skyrim as there was in Cyrodil, but I have to assume that there would be some interesting treasures down beneath the glaciers and so forth. I wouldn't mind if there were a few dungeons that were entirely underwater. It would be easy for Argonians, but it would provide a nice challenge for other races and give people a reason to get water breathing enchantments.

I know bethesda has said a few times that they were adding things underwater like sunkeen ships and the like, to try to encourage deep sea exploration

I miss Relics. Morrowind's Relics was the most fun I had in that game. If I remember, Saviors Hide was in an underwater cavern, or some other godly set of armor.

Good times.

Yes friend, there is indeed at least one under water dungeon within the game that I know of.Yesterday I found an excellant web page of a journalist who was allowed to play several 3 hour sessions of Skyrim, he gave a full account of everything he did within each session. In one of his sessions he stumbled upon a lake somewhere but never really said where.Under this lake was a shipwreck and an entrance to an under water dungeon filled with Necromancers. There was also access to both alchemy and enchanting too.So you can relax, you will indeed be able to try out your underwater talents =))

I am excited about the idea of being able to swim underwater and by chance find an opening along the side of a lake which leads to an underground cavern. Ooooo they better save some awesome weapons/armor for these special finds. Excited!

There should be more water than Cyrodil, this is a coastal region after all.

Good point! That didn't even cross my mind, also with it being farther north I hope we are able to see and explore glaciers. Mmmmm excited!

Morrowind was full of caves, it was really great to explore, no need for rewards. Oblivion was really dry in this sector. But them hOrriblivion landscape wasn t that big at all.
