as part of the mages guild it is possible to make your own enchanted staff, but I dont think that it is like enchanting in the game, there are only a couple of staffs with pre enchanted things you can choose from.

You mean as part of the College in Winterhold or the actual Mages guild in Cyrodiil?

Umm... ok?
Been right through the entire College questline, an in no part of it do you make your own staff. Unless it's something you do as Archmage, I kinda got bored after that and went and joined the TG.

The only time you can "make" a staff is using the daedric altar in the midden to craft a staff, but it always comes with the enchantment on it so all your doing is making an existing staff get spawned. Your not actually crafting and them enchanting a stave yourself.

Realistically thats all you are really doing when you enchant anything, Making/Enchanting in this instance are the same thing really as you come out with an enchanted item either way, if you want to be pedantic about it lol

Thanks. Doesn't really provide any useful staffs though.Only

3 staffs of your chosen atronach.
This seems to be very limited and something Bethesda should look into for an expansion or in the next TES game.

Yes, but with the Atronach Forge you enchanting skill and perks are irrelevant. You simply swap one (set of) item(s) for a new item.

You might as well say buying a magic item from a vendor is a form of enchanting because it turns your gold pieces into a magic item.

Indeed, which was the point I was making.
