So I've been playing Skyrim for some time now.

I am a Kajit, with 59 level in archery.

few hours back, I found that my archery skill was lowered to 20, with red letter.

So I checked my active magic menu, but there was no active magic that lowers my archery

I got blessing from a god shrine, but that did not help either.


Has this happen to anyone else here? is this a known bug?

Certain effects can lower skills.

but shouldn't they show up on "active effects" menu?

It happened with my one hand skill.

Just level it up or train it and it should be normal. I think it is just a display glitch.

Some people have reported this issue. It does seem like a bug

The way it was resolved was increasing the affected skill, it seems to restore the skill back to its original value +1
