Nav mesh be damned, the pain is worth it for this....I hope....
Well, when I was doing Old Hroldan Inn I came across the Old Hroldan Town faction and numerous references to The Hanging Man Inn in Old Hroldan. Old Hroldan is spoken of like a village and I think Bethesda was planning on putting a village there, but scrapped it due to time limits.....
Well now there is one.
I think doing a village will be a nice break from doing taverns and a return to my usual modding area. I wasn't too worried about doing this extra addon to Unique Taverns because I can't find any mods that alter Old Hroldan, never mind putting a village there. So a brief description of the village/town...
Way out there in the wilderness any town needs to be built defensively. It is built taking a cue from the town I live in which is a medieval town that was attacked and overrun by bandits on two occasions back in the 1400's and the town was burned down. So when the people rebuilt it they made a layout that has all the houses providing the defense by literally making walls of houses with access to the town only through the town gate.
Old Hroldan is the same...small, close, with narrow alleys and protected on two sides by sheer cliffs. Anyway there is no other village like it and it has a very unique and I think interesting layout. If you knew the towns I made for Oblivion, think Pell's Gate kinda style.
Buildings have been retextured to blend in with the inn which looms up there on the hill like some big haunted house.
So once this 13 building village is complete I will release it and move onto the next tavern.
Pics to come....
I am thinking of putting in....
*A general store.
*Possibly a player house.
*A weapons store.
*A clothing store.
