No Unit Collision

So, just found out from the "Angry Joe Interview" that you apparently CAN'T have unit collision in an MMO. Better go tell AoC, EvE, Tera and Neverwinter that they're doing the impossible and they need to stop.

I mean, when you compound this with this "soft" targeting, it just sounds bad. Oh man, archers are attacking our back lines, lets get heavy armored guys to guard them. No, wait. that arrows are just going right trough and destroying our healers and mages. Wait! here comes their melee, hurry form a line so they can't get trough, oh no, they just passed right trough us and now they're finishing off our support. Well guys guess we lost this, teach me to treat this like a strategic game.

I mean, does this not bother anyone else? I've noticed a few other statements like this as well, such as when Matt Firor was saying ESO was the first MMO to have everyone on one server, when EVE has been doing it for 10 years. If we have developers who are making the game with this attitude, what can we really expect. They sound full of them selves and scared to try things that might be "hard" to make work. Not to mention straight up lying to people.

I know a lot of you will think I'm just complaining to complain, but little things like this will really hurt the game overall. I'm not saying that the devs are "bad", or even that this game will "svck". I just pointing out that the game will not reach its full potential unless the ones designing it are prepared to do work, and they set out with a "can do" kind of attitude.

Why would your front lines ever be able to block arrows for your back lines? In a large battle the archers should always be able to fire over your front lines.

Nope, I'm not upset about this at all. Sure CD would be a nice feature to the game, but it's not essential for a game. Outside of EvE none of those other games you listed are doing well right now. Just because they have CD in their games doesn't mean they are GOOD games. Look at WoW, that game hasn't had CD at all, and for the first 4-5 years of that game it's subscription base just rose and people seemed to deal with it there. CD =/= making a game good. I've seen just as many people on this forum wishing that CD WOULDN'T be in this game as people wishing that CD would be in the game. So obviously CD doesn't make games good if you have equal number of people complaining that they hate that feature in a game.

Sending heavily armored guys to defend high priority targets such as healers and mages sounds like a very good strategy to me.

I'm not saying it makes the game, I actually said in my last little blurb there that its a little thing. And over all its not such a big deal, but when it comes to large scale, siege warfare type battles, it makes a big difference. WoW has the excuse of being old, as well as battles only being as big as 15v15 (excluding Alterac Valley). One good example of a tactic that relies on CD is from 300, Blocking a choke point and forcing the enemy to slaughter themselves on you or go around. It makes for fun interesting battles.
