Hrm. I installed the Finite Water mod, and it runs for a little while, then crashes after 15 minutes or so. First a black screen, then a grey one after I click. Gonna have to run vanilla, I suppose. Grrr.

Also, I did the seed "the end of the world". It started me on a sand dune that was higher than the clouds. Also had some lava at ground level and a pretty large, though shallow, cavern to start with. Buuut my game crashed, so I'm hoping I get that again.

I'll butt in again with the seed for my current singleplayer world:

Elfen Lied

Massive cliffs and valleys and arches, several waterfalls and lavafalls, and just excellent views. Today I did a bit more exploration from the valley I set up as my home, and was awestruck at just how many amazing views there were. I don't think I ever need to try another seed again.

Don't know how it was for you, but I spawned in one of those lavafalls. Ouch. :flamethrower:

Ha! That's priceless. No, I spawned on a rather ordinary beach.

Ok, did another run on "the end of the world". For kicks, I dug straight down after finding a small cave thing with some water. I fell into a GIANT GIANT GIANT cavern with every ore possible. Lapis, gold, redstone, diamond, everything. Lava and water running together. Tons of monsters. Lavafalls and waterfalls. Unfortunately...since I had no supplies, I didn't last very long, but I got some screen shots of it. Coming right up...

The Yogscast is playing through the Minecraft inspired 2D game Terraria, which is currently in alpha and not yet released. Looks very interesting, not a simple rip-off.

Found out about this yesterday morning... I have watched all the official Let's Play videos (with Red and Blue), and I am positively excited. Really glad this genre is starting to take off.

Well yesterday for mining about for six hours I got about 31 diamond with my mining technique. I feel like there is a little luck into that but still I like it very much.

I would really appreciate it if someone could show me a video, or a really detailed guide on how to install mods.

I keep messing it up. :cryvaultboy:

Ok, my roommate got the game and we played some (a lot) of multiplayer tonight. My question is:

When you close the Minecraft server program, does it save your world? Like, if my computer were to restart for some reason (I usually just put it to sleep), would all our work be gone when I started back up the Minecraft server program?

http://ca.kotaku.com/5796910/this-is-what-a-minecraft-tsunami-looks-like, is what a minecraft Tsunami looks like. Skip to 3:55, or watch the whole video.

Its creative mode water physics all over again. Just a lot less block-shaped.

Well, I'm done with my turn early. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4UQFQHMG

I'm pretty happy with what I was able to get done in this turn. Aside from adding new nether portals which have made traveling around the map faster than ever, I also made a permanent obsidian farm for us to use. Hopefully it'll help Webster and everyone else farm obsidian more efficiently. The portal leading to it is located at the end of the newly extended nether portal tunnel.

Should we then start on the new turn format with the share map, or do we want to continue discussing it and hashing it out?

Speaking of weather, has anyone noticed it rains underwater? I've been building a "Rapture"-like city on a server with some friends and we've noticed for all of us while working underwater rain still falls around us.

Yeah, I got pretty creeped out by underwater snow.

I wonder what this means for our Nether mod. Will we lose all of our progress in it when we have to switch over?

Interesting.

We should probably empty the important items from in there, because don't think it's the actual nether. However everything outside /should/ be fine, I hope.

Just to ask, since I didn't get any news yesterday, did the server get bumped to 1.5 yet? :cryvaultboy:

On the subject, the map is starting to show it's age. When do we intend to move on to a new map and start fresh?

I don't think it's showing its age just yet.

I remember Bone or Tank saying we'll either change when a big enough gameplay addition makes the map pointless (like a ton of new blocks and ores) or failing that when Minecraft is finally "released".

It has not.

I'm assuming we're waiting for tank to feel better, which is fine with me. Don't want him to have to work too hard for us while he's sick.

We will have to carve paths through the Nether again?
