Unofficial Skyrim DLC Discussion - Thread #12

They could add a big "natural" load over any city so when you get near it in the sky, it loads you in. Like caves... I would think that after load you would need to be auto dismounted and the dragon would need to fly away. (maybe just a quick teleport to the floor and you only see the dragon flying off) You cannot call it again until you are outside the walls.
Caves are doors. You click on the entrance of the cave you create and place what cell you would like it to be linked too.
It's not possible to create a "door", entrance to a cell - above the entire Whiterun city.

This one is excited to meet a fellow clan mate of Anequina.
My pleasure, one would hope this content contains some Khajiit husbands and wives.

Yes here is a picture I have just taken for you:

It's called Windhelm Pit and the people in the background are called "Pit Fans" or something. It has custom made assets for the most part.

Is that a mod?

Erm no. Yes it's a door, but if you set up an auto load door (http://i.imgur.com/Oadg3.jpg) with a radius, when you go far enough into that radiius you teleport. You could also use a massive box trigger with a script to just teleport you.
Not really hard. You make it sound like it's impossible.

No. It's in the default game, but is non-functional and you can't fight in it. Everything is there and ready bar the fighting. If you have it on PC open the command console and type "coc windhelmpitentrance" without the quotes.

Edit: spelling and such.

Too bad the pit is so tiny, I spawned in some wolves and bears to test it and it's WAY to cramped to be fun.

Oh yeah, THAT is very popular.

Not only can you see from the dragon as you fly over Whiterun that there is never any people there, perhaps some buildings are missing, oh well.
I'll fly closer, oh wait. I can't - it's an invisible wall here. Ah yes.

This makes Skyrim so much better, it feels so real now.
Jeez, no need to be an anusblade about it... <_<

There are ranks too:

I suppose they made it, wanted it to be a bloodfest/close quarters affair, then decided what you decided. Perhaps time just ran out after that.

I can't wait for more Dishonored photos and info!

Let me guess. You're one of the people that saw the picture that was blatantly not Skyrim, and thought it was Skyrim.

So, what about spears? Searched the update files... no trace of them. Would be nice if bethesda added spears (now that they're adding crossbows, acrobatics and dragon mounts... all fan-requested features!).

I wouldn't assume anything has been added/not added until we have official details.

Are you guys not forgetting something? Heh.
  • Dragon mount flies.
  • You could move over Whiterun and other towns that have walls but one problem, look at 3. (No open cities! C e l l)
  • *Looking down from my Dragon mount* Oh wait, there is no people what so ever in Whiterun and I can't enter the city without clicking on the door outside, what the? Oh nevermind - I has Dragon mount, no game breaking thing going on here, no-no.
Just look, http://www.skyrimnexus.com/imageshare/images/2625844-1330205671.jpg - now where are the Stables outside of Whiterun, doh - it is a cell. Bethesda won't change this, I'm sure. And you can't just leave a cell by flying over the walls. Or flying over the walls into Whiterun, not possible.

And for the very same reason we won't see "jump height" go up anytime soon.

I think you are underestimating the developpers' skills

Besides, if we can fly on dragons... we'll we have a dragon shout to fly ourselves? I think I read somewhere it was suggested that the Dragons' ability to fly was of magical origin. Maybe in "King Edward"? Maybe they could give back to us the levitation spell too? But I suppose this would require from them some level design fixes, which would make it very hard as well, as most dungeons have been designed to be explored without this feature.

I agree. We shouldn't geu our hopes too hgih up and then become dissapoited. I myself is not hoping for any dragon mounts and I'm not too interested in crossbows. Crossbows can make some awesome characters, though but it's not my kind of weapon.

(btw, Halifax is an awesome name for a place to live!)

Hold on to your undies people!! Tomorrows gonna be fun! :chaos:

Thank you for fueling my hype, vsions ! And thank you for your marvelous work, which fuels our minds, dreams and imaginations. I am sure you have again made wondrous stuff for us !

Of course we should get our hopes high ! I love this series, and getting high expectations and hopes is one way among others to show the Devs how much we love their work. This doesn't mean we should expect every single hope and tyniest idea we emit to ake its way to the game through DLC (then we'd be disappointed), rather this is a form of encouragement.

Does anyone else think that things like Dragon Mounts, Spears, Crossbows, Acrobatics, etc. should be released as a patch rather than DLC? When I think of DLC for a game like Skyrim, I want something that adds more story to the game. Gameplay changing features should be released as a patch rather than as DLC.

I think it will be added as part of the upcoming dlc. I sure the Dlc will be much much more stuff though.

I tend to think that minor gameplay tweaks should be released as a patch, but I guess it depends how much work those new gameplay features would require from the game. Those new gameplay features could very well be tied with the introduction of new items (Spear of bitter mercy, Muatra, some legendary crossbows...) which could also lead to new quests, new NPCs, new bits of lore...

If we can ride DRagons... Will we get a Dragon Armor Pack ? :P

Besides, Would you guys love that some future DLC include some epic horse armor ? I mean, some epic enchanted artifact with a great look, with new lore around it about its history, its crafting and crafter(s), and some quest to obtain it, some new location to find it?
