Unplayable & Unreturnable

Post » Wed Jan 19, 2011 6:59 am

Just wanted to hop on the band wagon. The game is unplayable on my system, and as it turns out, unreturnable (to target).

Who is the [censored] who pushed this product to stores without even basic beta-testing?

the only reason this game was pushed and sold is because they lied to everyone saying that this game was going to work

Yeah Bethesda really screwed the pooch on this one. With as many problems as this game is having, I garuntee that the next game they come out with, no one will buy it untill all patches are available. But then as slow as they are to release a patch that works, the game will be in the bargain bin.

No, they'll still buy it, but complain on here that there's too many bugs. No one's game is 'unplayable' on 360. Yes, there's quite a few bugs, but if you install game to hdd, regularly clear your cache and delete the 1st patch, the game is certainly playable. I ran into a bug where my game froze 10 times in a row, but I fast traveled out of location, rested for 72 hrs and didn't have problem again.

It was a pain, but now I'm well over 20 hours in with no crashing or problems aside from the annoying graphical glitches.I think the next patch will solve quite a few issues and we'll be left with very minor glitche, but more importantly a really fun game

"No one's game is 'unplayable' on 360."

On the contrary, many, many folks are finding the game unplayable.

32 hours in and I am dead in the water with the "DLC not found" stuff.

So I am 92.59.57 hours into the game, level 26, 19 achievements, and I have come into a catastrophic failure. Whenever enemies are in view the game freezes solid. Going back to previously saved games does not fix the issue. Coming into areas with enemies from different angles does not fix the issue. Fast travelling out of and back into areas does not fix the issue. The game is completely broken.

Up until now, the game was running fine. I only had maybe 3 or 4 freezes. The game did have extremely long load times: sometimes 1 to 2 minutes. And I did have some quest bugs, but nothing major: the ED-E quest did not have dialogue options at Gibson Scapeyard. The monorail at McCarren would run away if you didn't hug close to it and after diffusing the bomb the monorail still blew up. But other than that, everything ran just as it did in Fallout 3 (not perfect, but not bad either).

I got the update/patch at around level 10. I started noticing the enemy view crash at Nelson. When I went down to the platform right below the main area of Nelson, it would freeze the moment I got close to the enemies near the platform. I encountered the total catastrophic failure when I went to investigate the sniper near Bitter Springs and came up on the Cazadors in the area you pass through to get to where the sniper marker is. Now whenever, wherever a single enemy or multiple enemies show up in view, the game completely freezes and requires a hard reboot. It runs fine as long as no enemies are in view. But the moment an enemy comes into view, it freezes solid.

Very disappointing.

this. it is most defintely completely unplayable for alot of people.
I'm about 40 hours in and all of my 20 or so saves are corrupted with this dlc message.
Luckily I never even played much fallout 3 so I've bought the brotherhood of steel dlc and started that up until a patch appears. Hopefully (although i somehow doubt it) this patch will allow these corrputed saves to be played, cos I sure as crap can't be bothered to start all over again

I read the post about the "Temporary Work Around" and just to let you know, I have not been to the Strip yet, I saved frequently, and tried switching quests and going to other areas. While the "temp work around" info is good and helpful, it has no effect on that fact that this game just plain and simple does not work.

the more it freezes the more likely you are to get the red rings of death due to rebooting i already seen about 30 people getting the rings because of this damn game.so i would just stop playing now and wait with the rest of us for a second patch which will hopefully fix all these major issues,n not be like the first patch and make things worse at least in my experience thats when everything went downhill for me then the now famous DLC error which is complete bullsh*t all those hours wasted :(

Get rid of the patch
