Unresponsive right-stick

Post » Thu May 17, 2012 11:27 am

The aiming control on the right stick is pretty unresponsive for me. It didn't used to be, when I started the game it was as precise as any other game, and I found I could turn the sensitivity up. But it got progressively worse, and having the sensitivity up only seemed to highlight the problem more. I assumed it was part of the lag problem, but the patch has done nothing to fix it. Weirdly, I started a new game and it was just as bad on that. Anyone else experiencing this?

It's always as if the reticule on screen is about half a second behind my movements on the stick.

Probably an obvious question but since you didn't come right out and say so in your post I'll ask the obvious anyway - have you tried playing any other games to see if the same problem exists in them? Perhaps it's just the controller itself going bad.

Yeah, I've played other games- and I've tried swapping the controller over, and it's definitely no fault of the controller.

yeah op, its called controller in-put lag, does skyrim use triple buffering ?, because that is causing input lag on bf3.....
but i noticed it from the very start on skyrim, although it feels worse as the farmerate deteriorates, theres no way they can remove the lag with out nerfing the graphics i think

not that big a problem though in an off line game, online fps with input lag is a whole different story

Not a massive problem, no, but very irritating.

i wouldnt do it myself in an offline game where precision isnt that important, but maybe try that trick alot of ps3 users (including myself) are doing with bf3. playing at the lowest resolution might fix the issue in skyrim too.
you do it by only selecting the lowest resolution in your ps3 display settings, de-select 720p, 1080i, and 1080p, leaving only 576p(or 480p if in US), only thing the game will most likely look like crap, just like when you try it with bf3.

That helped very very slightly, but made the game look like a PS1 game.

It's not so much about the precision that makes this problem annoying, it's just that it makes the whole experience less fun. It's annoying having a sluggish reticule- even turning 90 degrees to look at a flower feels like a chore.
