Upgrades to the new castles

Have they said if there gonna add that to the new ones? Because I know it says you can on the steam page, but there is no option ingame to do that I've seen.

I'm talking about upgrading the castle like one does with the houses he has in towns, you know like buying them from the stewards.

That was a horrible lie. And the only way to do this is by mods. The only noticable things in vanilla dawnguard is that you can open the courtyard on the vamps side, and courtyard garden will be restored ( somewhat - don't expect babilonian hanging gardens there)

As far as I'm aware the castles upgrade themselves as you progress, well, the DG fort does. Volkihar you can only upgrade in two ways: By asking for rubble blocking the courtyard to be cleared and by pulling Valerica out of the Soul Cairn, so she can restore the courtyard's garden. Annoyingly you can't renovate the passages to Valerica's study (nor clear it of enemies permanently) or the two towers in the courtyard, or the docks.

That was my ultimate disappointment with Dawnguard. Seriously the only thing I can upgrade is the damn garden? As huge as Castle Volkihar is, I couldn't use some of those ruined hallways and rooms? I'd be willing to shell out gold to upgrade that castle.

Same, I wouldn't mind the crypt staying a mess, but the rest of the castle could at least have the enemies be removed and tidied up a little. Hell, expanding the castle could have been a mini-questline, finding useful NPCs, converting them into vampires and having them work for you as various things. But even without that it would be nice. It's rather infuriating that there's no non-fast travel way to reach Valerica's Lab without battling skeletons and gargoyles.

I'd like to have a castle home built in the centre of Winterhold over looking the Mages guild. That and a stables etc added to the city. At presentt it is the most depressing spot in Skyrim.

I'm not the only one wanting it.

Spoiler
There is in fact a fast travel way to get to Valerica's lab. If you are in the lab there is a door that leads to a balcony (or small bridge type thing) ..When you have found that you can fast travel to and from it.

I didn't save the dawnguard stuff because im like that keep my saves to very small number, question if i reload dawnguard and play a vampire this time you get to keep the castle? Can you some what decorate it yourself or does it respawn things like the jugs and plates with blood all over them and does it have weapon racks you can use?? What if i do all this and turn myself back to werewolf is it still my castle???

I said I wanted a non-fast travel way which wasn't a pointless dungeon, I know about the fast travel way
