Uploaded 1080p video to YouTube = Pixelated

Post » Wed Nov 07, 2012 12:16 pm

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone could help me. My uploaded videos to youtube, 1920 x 1080 res, are always pixelated for some reason, no matter what settings I use.

Currently recording with FRAPS at 30fps, 1920 x 1080 res. I use Virtualdub to bring the fraps clips together and compress. Using the following settings (minus the 720p resize) I'm still getting pixelated videos once they get uploaded to the Tube. http://www.donsalva.com/2009/03/01/virtualdub-720p-hd-settings-youtube

Anybody have any advice?

Here is my latest upload with those settings, but not resized - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQt95Zpwla0

Appreciate any tips

I use Virtualdub to bring the fraps clips together and compress.

Pixelation comes from two places, either these are digital artifacts because data is getting lost in the transmission, not the reason in your case, or too heavy a compression is chosen for the file, which is probably the reason in your case.

Looks fine to me. Use the larger player size.

It's when you go fullscreen that you can really notice it lol. Bigger player size it still looks alright.

Would the installed codecs play a part in it? The video on my pc looks perfect, it's only after upload.
