Use cave bear to level blocking.

I see people beating thier horse to level up blocking , better way is to find a cave bear after getting some decent
armor glass or ebony. Then just stand in from of him and let him attack your shield, leveled all the way to 100 doing this.

Aside from the necessity to use a potion every so often, I don't see why this wouldn't work great. Bears do such a large amount of damage with each swipe, I can easily see this working.

This method can also be used to raise up Heavy Armor, Light Armor, and Restoration. You'll just want to make sure that you have a kick ass Healing Spell before attempting.

Or you could do it while leveling normally. This will stop you from QQing online later when you complain that the games too easy.

Yup.

Even though I posted knowledge to crank up your skill sets, I level all of my characters naturally (except when they use Illusion... there's something so sweet about Quiet Casting. All of my Illusionists have to have it. ;)).

Eh, if you're gonna cheese it: the dagger wielding ghosts in that necrophiliac necromancers cave are an insanely easy and fast way.

Nah, level it 'naturally' or not, doesn't make it less easy.

Artificial leveling can make the game harder since you don't get the equipment upgrades (e.g. having steel, when the enemies are scaled for dwarven or orcish and not having the gold to buy better gear) or the increases in combat skills the game expects. Because of the gear issue, I found that fast leveling combat skills didn't have a big impact on difficulty, enemies are harder to kill (enemy armor and HP scale faster than damage from skill increases), but you get some CC from power attack perks that help keep them out of the fight while you deal with increased durability. The crafting skills seem like the only skills that really change the difficulty of the game, since gear matters more than stats.

I actually avoid using such methods (letting stuff that poses no real threat beat on you to raise block/armor/restoration) since it gives me flashbacks of doing the same kind of thing for like, every skill, in Morrowind. Sneaking and walking against a corner in an inn, jumping, casting crappy spells, etc. The monotony becomes unbearable (no pun intended).

Still, doesn't hurt to take a few hits instead of killing everything immediately if you want to keep your block/armor skills up to par.

it can get boring if done for every skill. but i find it nice for this one skill, as now when under attack my block will rock multiple enemies back on thier
heels allowing me to go toe to toe with them.

i know people crit. on you for things like this but i love melee, nothing better than to get in the face of dragon or some overlord and smash him in the mouth with my shield and then cut into him with a dagger, so so satisfying. best method is high speed approach slam them up against a wall and have at it !!!.
