Uses of Feltrite?

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 2:46 am

I was wondering if the Feltrite crystals that are hidden everywhere have anymore uses other than selling? I've got quite a few saved up so far and I dont wanna miss out on an opportunity to trade them/make something with them.
Anyone know?

All that you can do with them is sell them. That's why they're marked with a dollar sign.

There is a type of AR ammo that is feltrite based, I havn't found it yet but maybe there is a schematic for making these rounds. I'm holding onto my feltrite until I know for sure.

Towards the beginning one of the NPCs say that feltrite is used for trading for the most valuable items... trading not selling... soooo I dunno... haven't hit any good use for them yet.. and if u sell them you only get $1 a piece.

I've been saving mine as well. I see that they're marked with just a $ - but ever since that character said they could be traded for great stuff, I've saved 'em. If I find anything, I'll post it here.

BTW even the gear grinder (for unlocking locked doors) has the dollar sign.. so obviously that doesn't mean it doesn't have any other use.

Read the manual. It clearly states that any item marked with a dollar sign has no purpose other than to be sold. The lock grinder was probably marked like that by accident. Also feltrite sells for 25 a piece. Not one dollar.

mmmmm maybe its bugged but i had 6 feltrite and it said $6 pc version. On steam. Would be pretty pointless to make an npc say how rare and valuable feltrite is and how u can trade them for valuable items yet... they sell for hardly anything and have no other use. Also i believe there are more items that i've used that have a money sign... I believe there will be a trader later on that only trades in feltrite

The npc probably meant that you could sell it and use the cash to buy high end equipment. Feltrite alone paid for my armor upgrades and half of the authority machine gun.

no it specifically said feltrite only can be traded for some valuable items. Like they won't take any currency except feltrite.

There is a guy in the bar who will take 20 crystals for a defib upgrade. Not even sure what the upgrade does, only used the defib three times so far heh.

So I just got it, and it speeds up the recharge for your defibrillator.

The quest doubles the number of times you can use it before dying, whereas this increases the speed with which it recharges after it has been used. So yes, you can get both.

I sold my fifst feltrite immediately after I found it and got back to Hagar's area, and then walked by the NPC that said I should hold on to it. So, that was funny/svcked. You do need it for the defib upgrade but I haven't heard of any other uses. That said, you might as well hold on to it just in case. It's not like making money is hard in this game.

SPOILER

Hang on to the Feltrite. Later on a bloke called Jacob will want 20 in the Wellspring bar to give you a defib upgrade. Normally you'll have sold more than this by this stage and will be utterly doomed for finding 20 more. The upgrade speeds up the recharge rate... so if you don't die very often... don't panic.

definitely keep them till you're about to leace Springwell. There's a quest to trade 20 peices for a defib upgrade, well worth it.

Its with a bloke in the bar.

There is a second upgrade you do need it for. Keep 20 at least. When the mission pops up it makes it easy if you have them.
