Using destruction and archery on the same build

Post » Wed Aug 22, 2012 4:51 pm

I have noticed a few people have talked about using destruction and archery on the same build.

A witch hunter type build I guess. Without the touch spells of past games this just seems totally redundant though.

I could see using runes with archery, but that is a a very specific, singular use for destruction.

Can someone shed some light on how a build like this works?

do you just use bows for sneaking and for hitting at a distance?

I don't know, it seems too intricate. Switching from bows to one-handed is slow and annoying, so I recommend to power up either one or the other, and use the weak one mainly to finish off your enemies. For example: Power Archery up, and when you're out of arrows, switch to a ranged spell and blow dat ass to Aetherius.

Anyway, you can try to power them up both, but I fear it might get complex to fight like that.

Off the top of my head...you could hit them with weakness to flames for instance, then switch to destro and use fire...may not be most efficient but it would work

This, too.

Be creative & strategic with arrows and poisons, then use destruction to eliminate fleeing enemies, as fire makes enemies to flee away when their health lowers enough.

Would work well with runes, walls, and cloaks too....stack some fire damage :)

Yea, i don't plan on making a build like this. I was just curious.

I did make a build that used runes along with archery, arrows tipped with weakness to poison/magic/element and stuff, but it really wasn't as great in action as it was in theory.

Ah well, thanks guys, thanks for the opinions, would love to hear more.

Relatedly, to RP hunting, it just doesn't feel right to say, torch an elk and then harvest an unburned hide.

Fire rune/wall, flame atronach, flame enchanted bow, with weakness to fire poison might be effective....
