Using a PS3 controller with Rage on PC

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 5:10 am

In the gamepad menu the only controller option is for the 360 controller. Is there a way to play with a PS3 controller? I've done it on other games. The ps3 controller syncs so much easier with my pc rather than having to go buy a wired 360 controller. Anyone know if I the PS3 controller is compatible?

There are no official drivers from Sony for the PS3 Gamepad for Windows.
But there are unofficial ones: http://www.motioninjoy.com I guess these are the one you probably use already.
In the Driver Menu there is a option to emulate the Xbox360 Gamepad so that you can use your PS3 Gamepad with games that normally only support the Xbox360 Gamepad.
If this doesn't work, there is a another Xbox360 Controller Emulator: http://code.google.com/p/x360ce/downloads/list
Just unpack in the game directory and configure the Buttons/Sticks for your Gamepad.

Hey buddy, Motioninjoy works, and works well.
I'm using it for RAGE and it's a TON of fun. Just set it up, put it in Xbox 360 Emulator mode and if you have a spare bluetooth device you can also use it wirelessly!

I've also made a custom controller scheme that swaps around the shoulder buttons(L1/R1 for ADS/FIRE rather than L2/R2 which the default Xbox 360 controller config uses) and also uses LEFT on the D-PAD to quick-save ( super lazy mode lol ). It's rather easy to setup but if you like I can upload the controller config somewhere. Just have to drag and drop into your RAGE\base folder. :) Post back if you're interested ^_^
