[REQIdea] Vampire Lord powers in normal form

Post » Sat Aug 04, 2012 8:32 am

I only have a dozen hours of Dawnguard under my belt, and its already clear to me that while fun, the Vampire Lord form gets old quick. It pigeonholes me too much into a specific playstyle, and I keep thinking "What if I could do this stuff without having to shift?"

So I had an idea; there could be a mod where, as VL perks accrue, the VL's powers could be gradually transfered to the regular form, too. Imagine if you could "bat-warp" in normal form (assuming of course you are a Vampire), get the powerful drain spell, etc? Each VL perk would have two effects basically; what it does now, plus unlocking a currently VL-only ability for use in normal form. With the whole tree filled up, there would be little to no reason to shift anymore besides visuals.

Obviously such a mod wouldnt be for everyone but I think it could be very cool. Im not sure I have the skills to make it happen myself so I thought I'd pitch the idea first and see if anyone wants to pick the mantle :)

Feel free to point out if you'd have any interest in this!

Yes, this.

Or, good gravy, bypass the transformation animation entirely, or replace it with something else that's suitable and shorter. I think that's my entire problem with it, it takes forever and when you're transforming you're a punching bag, which really limits its usefulness.

Perhaps limit the Vampiric Lord powers for when you are at the highest strength rating of Vampire? (There's a separate thread about inverting the order in which your strength should be highest directly after feeding, not after having starved yourself, which I also support)
