Vampire Necromage Blackbook

Post » Mon Feb 04, 2013 6:14 am

Just an FYI for anyone that does the vampire/necromag/crafting skills thing. The black book called "The Sallow Regent" allows you to alternate between 10% increases to Warrior, Sorcerer, and Stealth skills. These give a respective 10% increase to smithing, enchanting, and alchemy. Prior to the blackbook the highest a necromage vampire could craft fortify alchemy/smitnhing gear was +33% without using the fortify restoration tricks. Using the black book the loop can be done another three times resulting in +39% fortify alchemy/smithing gear, +57% fortify enchanting potions, and +227% fortify smithing potions ( all numbers are not including the additional 25% necromage bonus when items are worn or consumed). Anyway, I thought these were pretty impressive increases. If you do this technique be sure to alternate switching to the right book skill selection before you do each crafting step.

Update: Wearing four pieces of the armor of Ahzidal adds 10 to your enchanting skill (12.5 for necromage vampires). This allows even better gear to be crafted along with necromage vampire and the black book. Now 2702you can craft fortify smithing/alchmy enchantments of +43%, smithing potions of +243%, and enchanting potions of +61% (all numbers are not including the additional 25% necromage bonus). The most exciting thing is now you can enchant items which reduce magic school cost by 43% when worn by a vampire necromage the additional 25% bonus makes the reduction 53%. So you can have zero magica cost in a school with just 2 enchantments. This means if you use a circlet and pen oc helmet ( which matches perfectly with the black vampire armor) you can have 100% reduction in all five magic schools.

Update: did some experimenting with weapons to see what the most damage I could get. I crafted five fortify archery items of +87% this pushed the damage of my ebony bow to 2702 base damage. I dual enchanted chaos and shock the chaos did 283 damage and shock did 182. Shock can be switched for 118 absorb health instead. Fortify marksman potion was 243% and death bell + river Betty poison was slow 50% for 304 seconds and cause 304 damage. Bow damage after drinking potion was 10,909. That would give sneak attacks over 30,000. All of this without fortify restoration. Of course using these would make the game boring as hell. I would recommend only using the necromage crafting abilities for things like spell cost reduction instead of increasing damage. Once weapon damage gets over 100 -200 the game becomes too easy.

See my update above. You can actually craft +43% gear and get 100% magic school reduction with just two enchantments making it possible for necromage vampires to have free casting in all schools without using fortify restoration.

sounds fun

vampires probally became the most broken bulids after DG, due to the fact vampire lord+blood of the ancients makes you unkill in lord form and you get enchantment boosts and no1 attacks you on spot anymore

I would say that the effects of the necromage perk is what makes vampires so powerful compared to other characters. It just boosts so many different things.

If you're into that sort of thing, it's pretty cool I guess :)

Did an update to the first post above that looks at the increased weapon, enchantment and potion damage that can be achieved now without resorting to fortify restoration. In short they are obscenely high. I would recommend sticking to non weapon enchantments and even using only1/5 of the weapon skill perks if you go the crafting route I described.
