Vampirism. It ruined my game.

Post » Sat May 19, 2012 7:26 pm

Hi all, clocked about 18 hours and have started doing the brotherhood quests. Got to the part where you have to fight a vampire and his missus, smashed them both and now out of nowhere im a vampire.

Cant go into any settlement without EVERYONE attacking me, even if i use invisibility potions.
Cant get the cure from the bloke in falkreath, because everyone jumps me straight away.
The blessing stone in whiterun that cures diseases does nothing at all.

I have loved every single second of this game up until now. Now it really is annoying me. How can i fix this?

I do keep multiple saves to, (3 of them) but alternate each time i save between the 3 so if one corrupts im not in the [censored], so all 3 have a save from when this vampire [censored] crept up on me.

You need to feed! Go to a Cabin with NPC's (Hunter's Cabin should serve) out in the wilderness or a open city at night and enters someone's house. Then crouch by her bed and feed from them.

Role-play the life of a Vampire, maybe you'll meet others in a clan or something.

You contract the disease whilt fighting the vampires, so not from nowhere

In the future always check to see if you contracted a disease after figthing vampires, if you did you have 72 game hours to cure yourself with either a potion or blessing(or any other conventional means).

It hasnt killed your game yet, there should be a quest to find a cure, i suggest using the search function on the spoiler, hints, and cheats section

There is a way to heal the vampirism.
My game is in German so I can't describe exactly where you have to go. There is a woman in the tavern in Rifton which'll tell you a way how to heal the vampirism (her name is Keerava). She'll will tell you the name "Falion" which is a vampire expert and you will get a quest.

Very nice scenario that you have described!!!

Actually if i were you, i'd keep the roleplaying spirit and quest for a cure. Roleplay an unwilling vampire and try to resist the urge to feed.
When you do eventually find the cure....think about it. Do you really want to go back to a mortal life? Or live forever in Undeath....Woooooooo!!!

Keep it positive. As long as it isn't a game breaking bug, play it as if its your character's story. Roleplay it!! :D

A lil off topic. If you become a vampire in Skyrim, do your face distort and get old looking like in oblivion?
Is the vampire face bug still there where female vamps get the male vamp face after reloading game?

you had three days to get rid of it, its pretty obvious when you have the disease. On screen cues and all that for each of the stages....

But to solve your problem, go feed from someone.

Bit longer thn 2 minutes, i apologise.

Right, went to hunters shack, and chose to feed, did it 10 or so times just to be sure, it says my feelings have receeded, which is obviously good and the 2nd hunter woke up, and is just swanning around the cabin like theres nothing wrong, she isn't hostile at all. Ill make a couple of saves, gonna go to falkreath and get the quest to cure it. I appreciate everyones very speedy feedback and thoughts. Although i really cannot stand this vampire bit, it was testing my patience haha.

Lets get this cured...on a side note, this is the ONLY thing that i have not liked about the entire game, its brilliant!

Just have to check yourself in future characters after fighting vampires if you have contracted Porphyric Hemophilia and let it incubate for 3 days you will turn into a vampire. Again as long as its in the incubating stage you can cure it with any conventional means.

I had this problem in Oblivion, i had no idea that i was a Vampire, however i was a new player to the series at the time. I had to do this long dragged out quest to get rid of it, hopefully they shortened it in Skyrim?

I havent spoiled anything though? If i had of spoiled it, i would have layed out what you killing the target for, if any reason, in that specific part, but i didn't! so happy days! Or, if you mean revealing that the DB are in the game, theres cheevos you get, with there quests in the cheevo description.

Rightio guys, i appreciate everyones feedback, I am now going to fill the black gem stone and cure this and get back on track, i think it might be a fight from distance job against vamps in the future haha!

Ugh.

Vampirism spreads like the plague.

I came accross one in Mortha and checked myself after the fight to find myself affected.

Thankfully they have an alchemis there or I'd have been legging it back to Whiterun.

Funny how people complain about becoming a vampire and not wanting it. I wanted it and it took me ages(an a lot of beatings) to finally get it. Seems it only hits you when you DON'T want it.
