This may be a dumb idea but do you think there will be some sorta show or live act well be able to see in vegas

Mabye a comic with wasteland jokes or a rat pack singing group or even at the stripper casino a lap dance?

The more i write this the more it sounds like GTA but id like something to just sit back and enjoy while visiting new vegas

In the very first gameplay trailer they had those 4 guys on stage dancing. That had to be a show of some kind. I would like to see acts. Stand up comedy would be cool. A first person lap dance would be hilarious. I'm sure they'll be something.

I'd be partial to some Billie Holiday style crooning by a beautiful singer myself. Something to kick back and watch while my character develops an addiction to alcohol because he is incapable of drinking less than a full bottle at a time.

Hope not. I prefer interactive media, watching games play themselves is boring at times.

Umm, then don't watch it?

I honestly never understand the people that want LESS choice.

Fallout New Vegas is a role playing game above all else. Shows/performances would be great immersion.

I've read that Vault 21 has a stage musical depicting the history of the west coast after the war--basically acting out the events of Fallout1 and 2. That sounds pretty funny.

What I can't understand is why people want six in video games? Don't you want this in real life?

I can understand someone not wanting to watch a video game play itself. Right now, it could be just 2 or 3 sceans that play themselves, but when will it stop? Maybe the next game will be 25% self played? What about 50%?

So I rather have it not start. I rather play instead watch. If I was going to watch, I would watch TV or a movie instead then. I agree, not wanting any games to play themselves. That is not more options but less interaction.

I'm engaged and I still don't mind it. :twirl: It's just kind of a weird distraction.

But again, if it's something you don't want to do then don't do it. Go out and do all the stuff you wanna do just don't watch any stage shows.

It's like saying "I'm not watching any t.v. today... so no one is."

Some people might want it and want to check it out. Some won't. The beauty of this game is choice and freedom to do so much. That's what I love about these kinds of games.

I wouldn't mind seeing a 1940's-1950's themed night club. AKA candle lit tables, a bar at the end of the room and a beautiful songstress on stage. It'd go really great with a casino IMO.

Very likely. Other then the four dancers on stage in the trailer, people who played Fallout 2 might remember the comedian telling bad jokes on the stage of the Shark Club in New Reno. One of the quest removed from the game involves you getting a job as a replacement performer or dancer if you have high enough charisma. Perhaps this can make a return in New Vegas as a way for charismatic players with high speech skills to make extra money and earn experience?

If you choose to accept it, one mission is replacing an entertainer that Benny had killed. Draw from that whatever conclusions you'd like.

That would probrably be well unresearched and make the vault dweller/chosen one look like [censored]s while the enclave look like heroes or something. It would be horribly inaccurate and make me laugh. Assuming it goes like that. But assumptons can be dangerous. :S

I would enjoy a protectron standup comic. or a ghoul magician/singer like someone pointed out awhile back.

I hope they choose to incorporate some background entertainment content, if you don't want it, you don't have to watch it. It would do a lot for the game's immersion and would give New Vegas that active, live feel they are shooting for in contrast to Fallout 3.

Either of these would be awesome :tops:

The Protectron comic would be great, especially with drums on the punch line.

They probably will have some shows. They definitely do in the Aces, which was shown in the trailer. I'm kind of partial to the Prrotectron comic idea myself.

Hey, that could be one of the jokes the terrible stand up comic makes! Along with 'Radscorpions. What makes them so rad?'. Of course with State-of-the art booing sound effects and tomato splattering physics!

well for some of you weirdos the game was also rated M for guy on guy six girl on girl six and guy/gal on robot six. Hopefully smoking 2.
If anything smoking should give you +1 charisma because it makes you look cool, that sort of came out wrong though.

Ok cigarettes -1 charisma +1 strength
Cigar +1 charisma -1 perception
Weed all stats are randomized so you have unarmed at 15 and melee at 75 it is randomized so unarmed is 75 and melee is 15.
Wasteland weed +10 to 3 random stats +100 rads.

Weed?
No thanks.
And I understand cigarettes giving you a slightly less better sense of taste but why would it decrease one's eyesight?
(Both taste and eye-sight belong to PER).
I mean, I'm a long time smoker and I have almost perfect eye-sight.

Tomatos? I'd rather throw a 200 Year old Salisbury Steak at them :bonk:

Now someone needs to make a game where you watch a series of terrible stand up comedians and you have to throw assorted items at them for points. With really advanced physics and stuff. For fun.
