Veronica Companion-Quest

Post » Thu Dec 23, 2010 6:28 pm

Hi there.

Has anybody found a solution to make it work?
I found several solutions, but all of them set the quest to a point where it's halfway done.

Any good hints?

Elaborate...

Do you mean starting her quest ? The New Vegas wiki tells you all the areas where she should have dialogue.

Personally it took 3 trips into the Van Graff store in Vegas before I could get her quest to fire....no other place on the map ( except for once in Nipton ) could I get dialogue out of her.

I was so sick of hearing wassup I almost hit her.

^ interestingly enough, hitting an NPC is one of the ways you can reset a stuck AI package. It does not work for companions and quest scripts though.

I'm a little worried because I already did the quests regarding her tech-requisitions(powered the grid with HELIOS, retrieved the data from Vault 22 and I don't want to give her my beloved pulse-gun).

Don't worry- you just show it to the elder. She doesn't take it from you.

I traveled to all locations...nothing happened. Also I did most of the quests listed there before I took Veronica with me.

Well there is a very long and tedius series of commands you can enter that force some of the missed converstion opportunities (note, this was posted in the talk section of the vault/fallout wiki. there are some typos in it but it should still work. it seems only a few of these lines are completely needed)

Been having problems with Veronica not initiating any of the conversations for I Could Make You Care and I believe I might have found a way to start it through the PC command console. This is a bit tedious but I didn't bother looking for a faster way once I got it to work.

1. In the command console input the following:

set "00145f85".bReactionPending to 0

set "00145f85".nReactionPending to 4

set "00145f85".bReactionsGiven to 1

2. Close the command console and talk to Veronica. She should start the conversation as if she had reacted when you, say, brought her to McCarran.

3. Open the command console again and input the following:

set "00145f85".bReactionPending to 0

set "00145f85".nReactionPending to 7

set "00145f85".bReactionsGiven to 2

4. Talk to Veronica again.

3. Open the command console again and input the following:

set "00145f85".bReactionPending to 0

set "00145f85".nReactionPending to 6

set "00145f85".bReactionsGiven to 3

set "00145f85".bForceGreet to 1

set "00145f85".nGreetingPending to 1

set "00145f85".bDoneTroopReaction to 1

set "00145f85".nUpdates to 2

5. Talk to Veronica again. This should start I Could Make You Care.

If a line returns a syntax error try changing n to b or b to n. I had to do that when I used these commands to.

Most of those locations she just has to be there..the quest is not important.

Like just walking around Nipton or Nelson, Cottonwood....Van Graffs in Vegas. ..or talking to the doctor in the old Mormon Fort.

I couldn't get her quest to start...where in a previous playthrough as soon as we hit Freeside for the first time it popped up. This last time it took four hours in RL time to figure out all I had to do walk into the the Silver Rush and exit for her dialogue to start.
I noticed when I first went into the SR..she didn't follow..went out to get her...dialogue...went back in..she's still not there...went back outside...dialogue...went back in and she was there this time and she said something about the weapons and bam her quest started !
