What happens is that when you raise an undead they don't use their most powerful weapon, usually using their daggers. And if they only have one weapon, they resort to their fists. This is extremely annoying.
How do I know this is solvable? When i started my new playthrough after recent update, i used raise undead spells, and noticed that the raised undead used their strongest weapon, and even if they didnt have a weapon, they looked around for a weapon and equipped that, i thought to myself "wow, bethesda has solved this bug"
But much later, when i've started using "dread zombie" spells, i've noticed that the bugs back. Forget using your primary weapon, they dont even use their weapon if they have no daggers , they just resort to their fists.
I have done extensive research on this bug within my gameplay capacity. Interesting thing is this only happens if they died during a fight, if i killed them in one-shot during sleep, then they do use their main weapon. The bug doesnt seem to be present on the first two conjuration spells "raise zombie" and "raise undead" i think. But its definitely present on "dread zombie" spell.
I also did experimenting by loading the earlier saves in my playthrough. I removed the weapons of the dead bandits, and put them some distance away, when i raised them they went for any nearby weapon and equipped it. I also noticed that they used their main weapon even if they had a dagger after i raised them. So the problem seems to be related to the higher level conjuration spells i believe.
So the problem is either that the higher skilled expert/ adept spells arent working, or that if the enemies are of high level , they dont prioritize their weapons as they are supposed to.
I really hope you guys solve this bug, it doesn't seem undoable, since the "raise" spells seem to be working fine at earlier skills. I think maybe the priority of higher raised guys is wrong or something. Raising a guy who uses his fists helps me in no way. I also tested the spells on draugr, and at earlier levels they went for their weapons but on stronger spells they had the exact same problem, they fought with their fists.
I'll be glad if all this typing and information wasn't for nothing.
