Very important question about perk respec [no spoilers, plea

Post » Mon Feb 04, 2013 2:23 am

I try to stay away from spoilers as best I can, but sometimes that just does not work out. As I understand it, there exists a way to reallocate perks in Dragonborn (if I'm wrong, I imagine this thread will get locked quickly).

That said: what about Necromage? If you're a vampire, Necromage affects perks chosen after it. Does this mean that a Necromage vampire can just respec to choose that perk as early as possible and then select all the other perks they had so that they're affected?

Please refrain from posting any spoilers about how one comes across the opportunity to reallocate one's perks, and especially nothing about the story (if that would at all be relevant here). If there are some manner of limitations on perk reallocation, then feel free to let me know what they are.

You more or less choose which skill you want to reset--it won't reset them all. So, yes, you can reset Restoration and pick necromage at will.

Hope that helps, trying to avoid spoilers.

Thank you. Can you only reset one skill ever or just one at a time? In the latter case, would it be possible--and if so, feasible--to choose Necormage first and then get all your other perks, skill by skill?

You spend something and then you wipe out a whole tree if you so choose.

Okay, that's good. Is it a renewable resource? That is to say, can I effectively wipe out every tree to wholly respec? I suppose that would answer whether or not the Necromage perk can be effectively chosen as early as possible.

You have to reset each skill individually, but I think you can reset it as many times as you want. Experiment with it when you find it, you literally can't screw it up.

Yeah, you can reset anything as many times as you want as long as you have the means to pay for it (which you undoubtably should)

Depends on certain things though. Hard to say more without a spoiler.

There are only a few perks affected by necromage vampirism though.
You can find details in http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1385179-perks-affected-by-necromage-as-a-vampire/ thread.

Ah, so does that mean...

you can come back LATER and then respec AGAIN?

I'm kind of bored now, in heavy nordic plate, so if so I might wipe the heavy tree (at 1296 armor now, with only 1 point
in the first part of heavy tree and the rest all picked) and do light. The one armor I've really liked in this game, on a
female nord character, is ye regular old dragonbone scale stuff; I think its the best looking armor in the game
(and it shows her face nicely.)

1296 is double the limt anyways so you're already OP. More reason to respec there.
