To the mods: I apologize for re-opening this topic, but I would appreciate if these bugs be discussed further under the condition that it remain spam-free.

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1388608-very-strange-necromancy-bug/

Ok So it all started with the zombies i make not working properly.
The first problem i had was that every zombie i make turns to ash whenever i zone transition. It does not matter how long it has beem since i raised them.

The second was that when they turned to ash after zone transitioning, i could not search their inventory.

The third was my zombies occasionally attacking me when i raise them.

Now those three bugs persisted for a while, and i just learned to accept it and keep playing my necromancer, but now things have goten worse.

When i fast travel, old zombies that i raise come back and attack me. For example, i just fast traveled to windhelm and was immediately attacked by a Bandit Chief i raised 3 days ago and a Fire Mage Adept that i raised last night. And, when i kill these former zombies, their corpses are lootable but i cant resurrect them again (and there is no "too powerful to raise" notification).

So, if any of you have read all of this, is there any way i can fix this? So far i have never heard of anyone else with this problem, so i would at least like to hear anyone who has, even if you have no answer.

Thanks!

I am experiencing all 4 of these "bugs," although some are saying the first two are by design. I don't see why, since the spell duration should be dictated by your skill and potions. They are extremely frustrating.

I have a fifth to add, and that is that my attempts to reanimate have become entirely "hit or miss" with about 1/3 successfully reanimating. The NPC wil rise, but will become motionless or "moonwalk" in place. They are immune to damage or shouts and do not make the zombie grunts. Attempting to reanimate another corpse is the only way to change this state, at which point they return to a searchable pile of ash. Reanimation is crippled to the point that a significant advantage (reanimating a freshly fallen corpse to aid you in the midst of battling several NPCs) is removed. In addition, limiting your raised corpses to a single cell cripples the usefulness of this skill tremendously.

Necromancy is broken in a fundamental way that cripples this style of gameplay to the point of uselessness. Well, until I get Dead Thrall. Hopefully that still works... right?
