Victor Killed

I'm not sure if this will have a major impact on my game but I had just finished talking to Victor and he rolled off and got killed by some Mirelurk Kings... Should I reload an earlier save or go with it?

As far as the story goes, technically victor can jump his personality between Securitron bots, however, I don't know if the game works that way in truth, as I had victor die in the strip, and he is yet to respawn. I think your safest bet would be to reload an earlier save. The other thing you can do is rush to get on the strip (or the next step on your journey, Novac, or Boulder city depending on where you are now) and see if he greets you there.

You need Victor to get into the Lucky 38 for the first time but I have seen where he respawns just out front if he was killed earlier. He is just a program after all, so he can fit on any securitron body. The face on the robot changes to three or four different characters. I am wondering what he was doing near lakelurks. I have only seen him in a few locations on the way to New Vegas and Lake Mead was not one of them.

You get some funny dialogue after he dies

Well, I met him near the lake near Boulder City right after dealing with the Khans... I'm gonna keep going and if I have any problems getting into the 38 I'll post it here as an issue.

No there will not be a problem, I followed him over that hill as well only to watch him get one shot by a Mirelurk, he will show up again as nothing happened once you get to the strip. I don't know if that's really a bug or just that it's an example of him jumping bots as he never really travels from place to place (on foot... err wheel) he just has a bot waiting for him to control. For example if you go back to good springs you'll see the old bot he was in, though it will be inactive.

I just view it as robot suicide before jumping into one of the bots on the strip.

It's like Victor is exploiting a MMO's respawn system.
