*COMPANIONS QUEST SPOILER ALERT*

In the companions quest chain, after I retrieved a witch's head for kodlak and found that the Silver Hand attacked Jorrvaskr while I was gone, I was forced to speak to Vilkas about what happened etc.

He wants me to kill all of the Silver Hand etc, but he KEEPS following me and every time he catches up to me, he starts a chat with me, saying "We're going to make them pay!". I tried fast travelling away from him, entering buildings, but every time he just spawns next to me and continues spamming the same phrase over and over. I tried to re-load and talk to him again, see if it was a one-time glitch, but no, he starts spamming the phrase again. He won't help in combat, he'll just chase me around interrupting me mid-combat to say "We're going to make them pay!". If he is defeated in combat, when he recovers, he just pops back up and starts spamming again.

Anyone else had this bug? I'm tired of hearing the same phrase every few seconds

Its because you cleared out the next quest area already, and since they don't respawn, your pretty much screwed unless your on PC. I can't remember what its called, but its another fort on your way to fellhammer fort. Its right above fellhammer, look on your map you know what im talking about.

IF you are on PC, you can fix this, as I did the same thing. Go back into the place, click on all the dead bodies while in the console, and type "resurrect" without the quotes. Leave and the quest should work.

Thanks for the response. I hadn't cleared out the next quest area, as they were all still alive while I was doing the quest (while being interrupted 24/7 by vilkas). When I finished it (eventually), he started spamming a different phrase to me - "Let's return to Jorrvaskr. We must honour Kodlak's spirit" or something along those lines. Got back there, and my journal was telling me to talk to vilkas, but I couldn't talk to him about the quest as he was still spamming me. I decided to type "kill" in console on him, which worked as far as getting the quest stage done. Now he's just standing around repeating "For Kodlak!" with his hands around his invisible sword, although he isn't chasing after me anymore which is good.

Wow... That really breaks immersion... The amount of bugs in this game is ridiculous eh? I mean, its really unpolished. I wish bethesda wouldn't rely on the community to be their beta team.

i have the same problem but i have never been to 'driftshade refuge'... anybody got any other clue to fix this? i can't play like this :/
