Virtual Players for Multiplayer.

Post » Wed Sep 15, 2010 11:07 am

Crytek it is posible? I see a lot of people playing only Team Deathmatch and Crash Site and nobody playing other modes. I wonder if you can release an option to create a virtual player so I can play by myself or with my friends against them. This is a great game and I loved but with the bug and cheaters they make this game unplayable. For my part doesn't matter if you charge for that option and I hope you considered this. Thank You

Note: Apologize for my typing Im still learning english.

Yeah bots would help out if you want to play other game modes.

Exactly, but its look like nobody care. If you playing Crash Site this guys only go for the kills and not for secure the area, there a lot of guy they don't know how to play as a team and they don't care. With Virtual Players (good IA) is like a training to be a better player and get familiar with the maps, modes and strategy. I hope more people are interested with bots and Crytek see that.

@ TMAZT3R12, thank you is good to see I not the only one.

I'd love to play Crash Site against a group of dumb bots all standing in a group waiting for my Air Stomp

@ ez__mac. Yea... probability you right but that decision if made by Crytek team; is not to hard to do that, they can take the IA from the enemies of single player and if Crytek really care the customer at least they we read and answer they opinion about this. This post and forum is for express our ideas, problems.. everything to be better game for everyone.

Great suggestion about adding bots, I too was thinking that because of the various online modes being ignored by most players. Please Crytek seriously consider a bot option for online or offline play I'd gladly pay for it. Thanks

While bot's are a good solution there's other easier and more practical ways to get people to actually play the other modes. MAG pulled this off quite well when one of their new game modes wasn't played much if at all. They implemented a long period of double exp for that specific game mode. Something like that would be far more probable from crytek as a solution to get the k/d whores off team instant action. They'd probably need to make it so that the double exp is also only for the objective exp earned so that they force people to play for the objectives instead of just going there and doing nothing but run around aimlessly.

Just add an option to play all gamestypes in rotation.
We need more maps though.. a mappack with 5 maps wouldent hurt. Maybe larger maps?

Larger maps just wouldn't work well. You'd never find anyone...

Too early for a map pack!

I have given up on COD games because they force you to buy a map pack only a month or two after the game is released.

Some bots would be welcome though. Bot games should allow us to test new weapons, attachments and suit modules that we have unlocked on online multiplayer.

Agree with GodierBR, a new map it not the moment, at my point of view; you buy a game with different modes.. at least you need to play all this until you get bored. I play MAG since the fist day (01/2010) and I still playing with only few maps the people still playing, why? because all depend of the skills, strategy and Team, the kills is not to important if your playing a mode like Crash Site or Acquisition on MAG, of course MAG they release a new modes after 6 months but 64 player to 256 is great match. Crysis 2 with 12 players is different not to many players and they do what they want (camping, hiding or sniping), in this case I prefer have Bots on my side and help me to defend the Crash Site.

@ Seras s, a boost of XP in the modes is not really a solution they will still playing the easy modes (Deathmatch) that happen on MAG, tell me how many still playing Interdiction? Zipper put a lot of XP on Escalation, Interdiction, Acquisition and you only see a lot of people playing only Sabotage or Domination.

Thank you to everyone to read this post and express your opinion.

You have a point about that, but I think a very large number may play the other modes and find they may actually enjoy playing them and for the objective. It may not work but it's worth a shot even if it wins only a few players (as they'd be the ones that will actually play it for the objective). Not to mention I'd play with real players over bots any day. They have a limited set of tactics and can become very predictable far too easily. Also if you were going to implement bots to fill in for lack of players while actually online, you'd then need to make a difficulty setting for them that would be fair to EVERY player so that balance is maintained. That'd just result in the bots either being too hard or too easy for a lot of people and more complaining.

I'm all for a whole seperate version to the MP that's just bots though and can be played offline when ever your net decides to cut out. :)

Exactly, a boring game.. for that they have deathmatch . Yea I preferred a players than bots but with this players damn!... I die many times because this squad member is running behind opponent and he want to kill with male attack.. C'mon I can't leave unprotected my back; with bots at least you know they we respond (with good IA) or you can used to see from were they shotting. Only I want this bots for play the other modes and I think a lot of players they we like this too. It's only an option and Crytek Team can add to the game.

Having bots would be awesome!!! I doubt Crytek would do it but if they could add that to the game I will forgive them for all the other problems this games had (great game, I'm not trolling, just mentioning it has some problems) Bots PLEASE!!!

How ironic, I was just going over this same discussion with a buddy of mine, don't get to play with him alot since he is in New Zealand and I'm in the U.S. Both of us used to take turns hosting in BO (yes yes I know I know) and go on a killing spree in Combat Training. Would love to try out some of the modes that hardly ever get played, still haven't gotten a full round in on extraction. I like the idea of increased xp in some of the lesser played game modes but that could lead to some outrageous boosting if it was done.

I start to believe this we not happen, because I see a lot o people interested and reading this post but only that, they don't write any comments; if we don't have enough people asking Virtual Player (bots) on multiplayer, Crytek they we ignore this. It's sad because I think is the only way we can play other modes in this game.

with PSN down the option of the bots in this game will be nice(multiplayer) and helpful, yesterday I spend 1/2 hour waiting on assault mode I left the loby just to join instant action(the only mode you can play in this game), this game is full of horrible COD players... so boring.

edit - I like the bot idea but only if there is no xp awarded in those games, even if there are 3-5 players and only a couple of bots. In other games I have seen that are online with bot players as well, there is no xp for kills of bots. HP being the same, humans will always have an advantage and eventually the pattern would emerge [although now that I say it like that, some human players have easy patterns as well]

The real way to get people to play the other modes is to suggest them in the menu properly with a player count and wait time. Once PSN is back up, lets post a schedule for the different modes so you don't have to go into each one looking for a game. Maybe we can pick a day for each mode on rotation until we figure out which ones we like to play the most. Getting a party together is probably the only way to make it work.

Yeah bots would be nice, as long as the exp you earn there doesn't go to when you play with other people.

I like the bots idea! It would be great for training and learning the maps! Probably not as hard to implement as it seems?

Also, the MAG approach that somebody brought up would be a cool alternative to make other game modes more attractive to the usual TIA crowd.
