Voice command on smartphone

Post » Sun Jul 22, 2012 8:12 pm

I was watching another http://www.phonearena.com/news/Watch-another-funny-Google-Voice-Search-vs-Siri-skit_id32351.

Spoiler
Google won.

As an Android user, I've never find a need to use voice commands, maybe it's because the phone could never understand my accent, or that I type faster than I speak, or that I find the idea of purposely speaking slow, loud and clear to the phone in public rather silly. If you own a smartphone that has voice commands capabilities, do you actually use it often for day-to-day tasks?

I'm glad I never bought into that Siri crap. It seems lousy.

I feel like it's more for aesthetic. You know, everyone likes to show off and look all fancy every once in a while by talking into their phone, don't they? :P

Never used voice recognition because the only time it'd be useful to me is in the car and I have a strict no-phone rule while driving.

http://tech.fortune.cnn.com/2012/06/29/minneapolis-street-test-google-gets-a-b-apples-siri-gets-a-d/ (largely due to the inaccuracies of voice recognition and introduction of useless ties to Siri like Yelp)

I use voice command so little that I sometimes activate it for fun to amuse myself.
