A walrus follower (Or any other animal)

I made a horker next to Whiterun's famous crazy Talos guy, and set him up as a follower, but all he does is sit there. I can't speak to him, he doesn't make noises, just idles next to Talos man. Do I need a script or anything for the walrus to act like a follower? You know, so I can tell him to wait, attack people, pick a lock, edit what he has (Of course it won't show, but armor affects his stats I'm pretty sure), etc. I'm also new to the creation kit, and I thought making a walrus follower would be simple, but I guess it isn't.

I don't know about animal followers, but humanoid ones need to have the right voice type. If they can't use the dialogue, they're not gonna say it.

Also, animal followers (like dogs) use a different setup than the humanoid ones. It sounds like you might have tried to use the humanoid one, which ties into what I said about voice types. Try changing it to a dog voice, with the dog follower faction etc, and then tweak it from there.

Should make him ridable for a very leisurely travel experience.

It is far, far better to create your own scripts and dialogue stuff for new followers than to edit/amend the existing vanilla stuff/quests.

Especially when you want a type of follower that doesn't already exist.

If you can follow them, there's instructions here:

Look at POST No16 and the amendments to that proceedure in POST No19 (with thanks to jediborg and DreamKing, as ever ;))
