Want new merchant system

Post » Thu May 10, 2012 1:38 pm

After playing for many hours I still use too much of my time running from vendor to vendor selling items. The main problem is that they have too little gold. And I don't like the fact that they always have the same amount of money when I return after 48 hours. It would be great if a town merchant increased their wealth by the amount of items you bought and sold in that town, and got inn different and sometimes very rare items. What do you guys think?

On the stats screen there is a 'stores invested in' bit. I haven't seen the option to do this yet, but I think in Oblivion, investing in stores increased the amount of gold the merchant had.

There is an option to invest by the skill upgrade system. But that requires 70 in Speech. Which takes ages to get. A dynamic system would be so much better.

Uh ya there's a perk to increase every merchant's gold by 1000. But you can invest in stores as well, outside of perks.

There are two different perks.

1) "Investor" Requires 70 speech: "Can invest 500 gold with a shopkeeper to increase his available gold permanently"
2) "Master Trader" Requires 100 speech: "Every merchant in the world gains 1000 gold for bartering"

todd said there will be an entire economic system in Skyrim. It was obviously just hype.

Todd is a clever, clever mann.

Personally, I dislike this system. I've still got items in my backpack from 10 levels ago that i've wanted to sell, but can't. And no, i'm not wasting Perks on the Speech tree.

Oh yeah I remember that now. Wonder where that idea went.
