I wanted to thank you for Hearthfire, Beth!

Post » Wed Aug 29, 2012 11:16 am

I seriously cant believe some of these people complaining of "optional" content... Please, please PLEASE do not let this discourage you guys in any way, shape or form. Some of your fans actually appreciate and acknowledge, the time and skill required in making these additions! And fully welcome ANY content you release in the future!

Since Daggerfall (and the elder scroll series), your company has literally given me thousands of hours of enjoyment.

I have paid and will continue to pay, for EVERY product you guys release. Because its obvious your company, has a passion for every elder scrolls game you make, and you make it worth 10X the actual retail value.

So again, Thank you.

Please keep up the amazing work!

Agreed

I don't quite understand all the hatred for Hearthfire when A. it's entirely optional to download, and B. Gstaff said that they thought everyone would enjoy it while waiting for other DLC. So throwing hatred back in their faces just because it wasn't what YOU (as in, another player) wanted.

Seriously, cheer up people!

I agree completely.
I've got only two issues with Hearthfire when the first isn't so big and the second could surprise me greatly.
Other than that it's perfect , I was one of the first ones who wanted a domestic DLC.

Hearthfire looks great. I seriously hope it comes out soon for PS3, this solves mindless hours trying to properly put books on the shelf  Can't wait for it, and at only $5 it's the real deal.

Agreed here too, Hearthfire looks brilliant! It's just what I was hoping for, anyone who complains should just be quiet and not buy it so the rest of us can enjoy building stuff

Thanks Bethesda

I shipped my xbox out to get fixed, and it won't come back until a month after Hearthfire is released. :swear:

I think i am going to enyoy Heartfire,But its no full DLC or expansion. I think its silly to give it a name like heartfire :3 like its a big dlc or something,Will mislead people.
And i am just wondering things, heard you could just build your house in three holds, but i guess you can build it anywhere whitin these three holds. I hope so.

So you can find your own unique place to build on,wich no other have build on ^^

Don't get your hopes up..

Hearthfire is a much smaller add-on than Dawnguard, so it should have much less bugs that need fixing. So I think I might just get my hopes up for this one...

Instead of releasing large chunks of content months apart, they are filling in the gap with smaller DLC's! I really don't know why people are complaining, you are not forced to buy it, and there is another 3-4 large DLC's expected.

I still think Sony-Microsoft-Bethesda are having a three way legal battle on Dawnguard. That is one of the reasons why it is late.

And Beth, thanks.

Cool. I was expecting Hearthfire to actually be a full sized DLC but this is unexpecting, Unexpectingly cool that is. Can't wait to build myself my own house! I must think of locations on where to put it. Adopting children, meh. Not for my character, he is more of a loner and doesn't have time to be a father when he is out adventuring. Still a cool feature for other characters I am to create.

I like how Bethesda is doing with this as well. Add in a full-sized DLC like Dawnguard and then feed us a few appetizers until our next DLC. I like this approach. And as cheap as $5. Definitely getting the DLC. The only bad things I can see coming from this is bugs. Houses in Skyrim are full of bugs as it is. I can't decorate my house in Skyrim without the items flying around everywhere when I leave and causing a mess! With all of these new things to do with your house, I hope they decide to actually take action with these bugs. The other bad thing, I have to go back to Best Buy and buy more microsoft points.

All in all, I can't wait for this DLC!

Microsoft has pre-bought a 30 day exclusivity for the first 2 DLCs , Unfortunately Dawnguard was a big one but I know what you did there ! "Okay throw a small addition-dlc and we're done with Microsoft exclusivities" Hearthfire is not only a welcome addition but it also is a "bait" so that the next DLCs (which are going to be big) wont have any exclusivity ! Thats great news indeed !

Its not a legal battle, its the fact that the PS3 is a major league pain to program for. The PS3 is a powerful, but far more complex piece of hardware then the Xbox, which is basically a PC in most respects.

The reason for the hatred is that we love Skyrim, and instead of Bethesda developing more content which will add to our game experience, such as a big new are to explore, new dungeons, new monsters, new factions etc., they are giving us The Sims. Fun.

Although it isn't what I expected, I still plan to buy it.

Off topic: Are there even 400 microsoft point cards, or will I have to buy an 800 point card?

I can only find 1600 point cards where I live. Would not want to spend $20 for a $5 DLC. I need enough money for Borderlands 2 and Halo 4, and not to mention, some actual money to save in order to live.
